Welcome to the OABG Blog and Podcast!

Today I am On Assignment from my phone! My computer has restarted numerous times and it’s funny because God was just telling me yesterday that He was doing a hard reset in my life! Welpt! I am pretty sure, He is doing that in my tech life as well! I have been courting the purchase of a new device because this isn’t the first time, my computer has “gone crazy” on me. But I have been hesitating on the purchase! But I want you to see this! God told me yesterday and today, I literally just ordered a new device that I can pick up TODAY! When we obey God and follow His instructions, He will HAND our blessings over to us!! I’m about to shout on this phone keyboard!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

Today, as I read Deuteronomy 2 for the Scriptural Bible Study, that’s exactly what God did for the new generation (the children of the parents who didn’t obey God). He handed them everything, including the victory over the enemy! But they had to obey FIRST!

But before I jump ahead of myself because I am doing this whole blog from my phone, let me say this. Remembrance leads to obedience. And today, the Lord reminded me that I am to honor him in everything I say and everything I do, no matter who I am with or where I am. He said surrendering to Him means I have relinquished control to Him and how I honor Him is evidenced by how I behave in every situation.

In verse 7, it says: “For the Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He had watched over your journey through this immense wilderness. The Lord your God has been with you this past 40 years, and you have lacked nothing.”

God has been faithful to us and if we remember that, it helps us to be faithful and obedient to Him in all we do. But that’s the key, we must DO what He says. The children of the children of Israel were a new generation and they were obedient. I noticed a bunch of verbs used in verse 24. That means they were active and moving. Words like: get up; move out; cross; begin; take possession; and engage. Our God is a God of instructions with movement!!

What action has the Lord told me to take (get a new computer). Did I take the action or did I sit idle using the excuse of waiting on the Lord? Many times God has already told us what to do well before the time to do it! But when we don’t take possession of what He has already given us, we end up missing the blessings! I prayed this morning, Lord don’t let me miss what you’re doing in my life!

But check this out! Even when the Lord tells you it’s yours, that doesn’t mean you won’t have to go to battle for it. All you have to do though is show up for the battle because that’s where the blessing is! My God! You can’t take the livestock, the spoils, and the plunder from your enemies if you don’t show up at the battle! Read verses 33-37! My favorite part is verse 36 where it says the Lord gave them EVERYTHING! Then in verse 33, it says that the Lord gave them the victory over Er’body! The king, his sons, and his whole army! When we follow God’s instructions to the letter, the devil and his whole army of demons IS ALREADY DEFEATED! But we got to show up for the battle! That’s where we SEE! Verse 31 says, “Then the Lord said to me, “See, I have begun to give Sihon and his land to you. Begin to take possession of it.” And y’all, the very next verse says, So Sihon and his whole army came out against us for battle. But it didn’t even matter because the next verse says, the Lord handed him over to them and he was defeated!!!

Nothing can stand in the way of what God has for you when you give yourself fully to obeying Him! The book of Deuteronomy teaches us to remember the Gospel, love Jesus, and obey! And that’s exactly what I encourage us to do today! Obey God and watch Him HAND US the blessings that He has already promised us!
