Above & Beyond That! Fon Strong James

Welcome to the OABG Daily Blog and Daily Podcast!

Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence. Ephesians 3:12 NLT

Today I come to you boldly and confidently! Consider it the residue of grace that is still on me from the prayer closet and my time spent with Holy Spirit this morning.

I got to be honest with you all this morning. My praise and worship alarm woke me up this morning and I didn’t get up. I started talking to God and then went back to sleep. Then my 2nd praise and worship alarm went off an hour later. I did the exact same thing. I started talking to God, even listened to some of the music, then went back to sleep. It was a dream that abruptly woke me up and sent me right into praying in the Spirit!

This morning I was warring in the Spirit for children…again! I figured out that maybe this is my prayer post, praying for children. I always seem to be praying for children, specifically for those who are being held captive in or out of their homes. Captive can be defined as mental or physical. These dreams I have always seem to be my children when I initially start the dream, but I later realize they aren’t my biological children, but again, maybe they are the children assigned to me to pray for. The way the dreams play out, I think they are mine and I be ready TO GO TO WAR for mine, but God is showing me that I need to go to war in the Spirit for those who may not be mine by birth! But to recognize that all children are His!

So I went to war this morning. Jumped right up and got to praying in the Spirit! Let this be a reminder that we MUST be on our prayer post. Our prayers are necessary. Our prayers save lives. Our prayers thwart the enemy! And I got up like a real Momma this morning…NOT ON MY WATCH! I binded and rebuked the enemy in the name of Jesus! I confidently and boldly went to war in the Spirit for children who are in situations where the enemy WILL BE exposed in the name of Jesus. The enemy who touches children inappropriately. The enemy who molests children. The enemy who tries to influence children to be and do things God never intended. I WENT TO WAR for those children this morning in the mighty, powerful, and matchless name of Jesus! Again, NOT ON MY WATCH! I thank God that He woke me right on up and I got on my post!

I had to keep saying…Vengeance is yours Lord. Because that Momma Bear in me was straight hood ready! You hear me! In the dream, I had a fork and I was ready to stab the man I thought was harming my child, but the Word of God says in Romans 12:19: Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.

My point for telling you all this…STAY ON YOUR PRAYER POST!

Now, what did the Lord God say to me this morning as I read Ephesians chapter 3 for the Scriptural Bible Study? LOL! I know y’all like wait…you got more?? LOL! Yes! So stick with me.

Now, in reading Chapter 3, there were several verses that stood out. Of course you already know verse 12 talking about the boldness and confident access through faith in Christ. But a few other things I noticed. One was the way Paul referred to himself in verse 8. He said: “This grace given to me — the least of all the saints — to proclaim to the Gentiles the incalculable riches of Christ..” This was just a reminder to me (and you) that God can use the least of us. He can use who we think is the worse. We learned about Paul when we studied Acts, so we know Paul (formerly Saul) was about that life. You know, the life that didn’t include serving Jesus. But God used Paul in some of the most significant ways, and God was using Him in chapter 3 as he was talking to the church of Ephesus in this letter.

Another thing I learned while studying this morning is that angels influence believers and demons influence non believers and REBELLIOUS believers! I got this from Dr. Tony Evan’s explaining verse 10 where Paul is emphasizing that God’s mystery of reconciling Jew and Gentile is being demonstrated through the church “to the rulers and authorities in the heavens.” God uses the church to teach the angelic realm (both good angels and demons) as well as their human representatives his wisdom as he brings together sinners from every tribe, tongue, and nation into one heavenly community (called the church). The church is God’s spiritual agency. The church is God’s vehicle that he uses to carry out His program. See Ephesians is teaching us more about the church.

But the verse that hit me to the point of tears was verse 20: Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

I heard the Holy Spirit say: When you ask me for it, I am going to do above and beyond what you ask. Your thoughts can’t even imagine or comprehend the love I have for you and how much I want to richly bless you and see you happy. You deserve all the happiness I have for you Fon.

Tears, tears, and more tears!!!! I trust God’s plan for every area of my life. I heard Tim Ross say this…whatever I am thinking or asking for, this verse confirms that it will be above and beyond THAT!!!!! So y’all know that means God will do exceedingly abundantly above all that I have even thought about and prayed for!!

Woooo Weeeee!!! I’m excited to get the God version of my life!

18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Ephesians 3:18-19 NLT
