A Thankful Heart Because God Hears Me Every Time! Fon Strong James

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you [and approved of you as My chosen instrument],
And before you were born I consecrated you [to Myself as My own];
I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5 AMP

This morning, I want to start the blog/podcast off with gratitude. Nine years ago today, I birthed a 7 pound, healthy baby boy who looked exactly as I (and my Mom) had prayed for! Yes, today is my son’s 9th birthday and I want to send a special Happy Birthday to him on today!! He is such an amazing son and my heart is overjoyed that we get to celebrate the day that the Lord decided he would be born on the earth!

As I was praying this morning, y’all already know the tears were flowing. All I have to do is think about the goodness of Jesus and all that He has done for me, and it takes me into a worship of Him full of tears. My heart is sooooo thankful that I can’t even comprehend or contain it! I love my children so much! They are both answered prayers and the Holy Spirit reminded me of that this morning. He said your children are daily reminders of Me answering your specific prayers. And remember, you had to wait to see them, but your prayers were answered exactly as you prayed! And y’all they were!!

My children look exactly as I prayed for them to look!! My daughter who is the oldest looks just like her Dad, which I prayed for. And let me say this, God made her look just like him because I didn’t even pray for her to have any of my physical features and she doesn’t, but she has a lot of my personality though. LOL! When I got pregnant with my son, my daughter looked so much like their Dad, my prayer was for my son to look like me. Guess what? He does. But he also favors my mom too because she was also praying for him to look like her. LOL LOL! I know. It’s hilarious when I tell the story, but it is pure example of how God hears our prayer requests and answers them.

Each day, the Lord continues to SHOW me how He hears me and how I hear Him. I was praying this morning and He said this to me:

  • Nothing will stop my plan.

  • I knew your son before you knew him.

  • I made him on purpose before he was even in your womb.

  • When you prayed for him, I answered your prayers.

  • When you named him, I had already made him a warrior for my Kingdom (according to the Google search I did when locating my son’s name, it means warrior).

  • Continue to cover him and your daughter in prayer. Teach them how to follow Me and My voice.

So again, I am just in full tears as I am writing. Heart just full. I then opened my Bible for the Scriptural Surprise and right before I opened it, I said, “Lord give me a confirming word.” Y’all, I flipped it open to Psalms 138 and read the words atop the chapter: A Thankful Heart. I just started crying even more! God hears me and answers me! EVERY TIME!

I read Psalms 138 and then I kept reading into chapter 139 and when I got to verse 13, which by the way, today is the 13th, it said this:

For it was you who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. Psalms 139:13 CSB

If that doesn’t make you shout, then read it again! I was like woooooow God! WOW! WOW! WOW!

Then if that wasn’t enough, the Hope Words on that page said: You were made on purpose for a purpose.

I kept reading and all through verses 14-16 it talks about being made.

14 I will praise you
because I have been remarkably and wondrously made.
Your works are wondrous,
and I know this very well.
15 My bones were not hidden from you
when I was made in secret,
when I was formed in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw me when I was formless;
all my days were written in your book and planned
before a single one of them began.

Psalms 139:14-16 CSB

Now verse 16 really stood out because sometimes we can get caught up in our day-to-day and what’s going on in the world around us, but this verse should be one that we come back to and stand on. God saw my son before he was even FORMED in my womb. Before me and his daddy had those margarita drinks at the Mexican restaurant. LOL!! He saw my son and he not only saw him, all of my son’s days (including the day he would be born, July 13th) were written in God’s book and planned before a single one of them began! That’s the case for ALL OF US!

In the Tony Evans Study Bible notes, he said no matter what circumstances surround your conception, your existence is intentional. You are not a mistake, for God makes no mistakes. You are created in the image of God per Genesis 1:27, with purpose and meaning. This truth is to be the foundation for your self-worth and self-esteem. The Lord knows all of our days from beginning to end. Our existence is no accident. We are all part of God’s divine plan.

Now that you know this, how does it change your mindset for today?

I know for me…it gives me the exact birthday message for my son that a hallmark card never could. Today I celebrate my nine-year-old son whom God created and knows everything about. I pray that I am obedient to my parental assignment and raise him to fear God, trust God, and follow God’s plan for his entire life, because Finley was made on purpose for a purpose. I celebrate God’s creation that He answered my prayers to a tee with…my amazing son (who’s calling himself the Birthday King today). LOL!

P.S. Be sure to press play above & listen to each episode as I always go deeper on the audio version.
