Have you ever said one of these phrases: Oh they get that from me. Nah, they don’t get that from me. They get that from your side of the family. Nah, they get it from y’all side of the family. Where did you get that from?
These are all familiar phrases that we say either when we are celebrating the characteristics or talents of another person (especially our children) or we are denying a characteristic or habit of another person (especially our children or family).
I was thanking God for my son having a great football practice yesterday and his Dad and I often use those phrases above about our kids. I tend to use it a lot when our kids do something great. I jump up and say…yeah he or she gets that from me! LOL!
Holy Spirit corrected me this morning. He said: You (They) get it from Me, because it’s FOR Me and My Purpose!
Of course I couldn’t and definitely wouldn’t go back and forth or contend with Holy Spirit (like I be doing my kids Dad). All I could do was smile, agree, and praise the Lord for making us and putting all that He put in us! And He put every thing in us for His pleasure and because that’s how He planned it and wanted it! Hallelujah!
“Our Lord and God! You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power. You made all things. Everything existed and was made because you wanted it.” — Revelation 4:11 ICB
Every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm has already been lavished upon us as a love gift from our wonderful heavenly Father, the Father of our Lord Jesus—all because he sees us wrapped into Christ. This is why we celebrate him with all our hearts! — Ephesians 1:3 TPT
Give praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing. Those blessings come from the heavenly world. They belong to us because we belong to Christ. — Ephesians 1:3 NIRV
Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love. — Ephesians 1:4 AMPC
The same way I jump up to celebrate my kids and previously tried to take the credit when they do something great, is the same way we should praise the Lord and worship Him. Worship is the celebration of who God is, what He has done, and what we are trust Him to do!
We can be encouraged and assured this morning from our scripture reading, that He has ALREADY blessed us as believers with every spiritual blessing in the heavens.

SALVATION PRAYER
If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
