Can God Count On Us? Fon Strong James

Welcome to the OABG Daily Blog and Daily Podcast!

As I was praying this morning, I heard the Holy Spirit ask me this question: “Can I count on you?”

It brought tears to my eyes, but I immediately answered, “Yes, you can count on me Lord.”

This morning is an early morning for me because it’s community day for my kids homeschool. It means I can’t linger in the bed. It means there is no buffer time in my schedule today to procrastinate, hesitate or delay. I MUST get up and handle business. No exceptions. It’s on days like this where I am super focused because I am obligated to a commitment. I believe the Holy Spirit wants to see me operate the same with Him every single day. To not delay. To not linger in bed. To not procrastinate, hesitate or delay on the commitment I have made to Him and His Kingdom agenda!

“Yes, yes, You can count on me Lord.”

Can the Lord count on you too??

Like Paul said in Ephesians 1:17-19: I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what is the wealth of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the might working of his strength.

What did I just pray for you? That God would give you wisdom. That you would realize and know what privileges you have as a believer in the family of God. For you to also know that you have spiritual wealth and an inheritance for eternity, but that God will give you what you need NOW on earth to fulfill his purpose for you. And finally that God can turn your whole situation around so that you can see His immeasurable power in your life.

Yes, we are studying the book of Ephesians for the Scriptural Bible Study and while it’s only 6 chapters long, I know it will help us better understand the role of church and what our role is in the church.

Several verses stuck out to me but Ephesians 1:3 is one that we can stand on this week!

Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens in Christ. Ephesians 1:3 CSB.

Paul, the author of Ephesians is basically saying that God has ALREADY blessed US as believers with every spiritual blessing in the heavens! God has already done everything He is going to do for believers. He has blessed us with “EVERY SPIRITUAL BLESSING.” We are seated with Christ in heavenly places, and we are to operate from that seat so that we can dictate activity on earth.

Bringing heaven down.

God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

It’s already done y’all! But can God count on us to be obedient to His will so that we can receive EVERY SPIRITUAL BLESSING from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?
