It’s so true. What you focus your thoughts on, you begin to see. When you put your attention on a certain vehicle, you start seeing it. I told you all that I have put my attention on a specific truck, the Kia Telluride. It’s on my vision board with an altered photo of me in it! Guess what? I am now seeing the truck every time I go out somewhere and lately more than ever. Why? Because it’s the vehicle that I have focused on.
The Bible says in Romans 10:17:
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (NKJV)
No one can have faith without hearing the message about Christ. (Contemporary English Version)
So faith comes from hearing the message. And the message that is heard is the message about Christ. (NIRV)
So faith comes from hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the [preaching of the] message concerning Christ. (Amplified Bible)
So then, people must hear the message before they can trust God. And people hear that message when someone tells them about Christ. (EasyEnglish Bible)
This morning, my question for you is…do you hear what I hear?
What did I hear this morning from My Lord and Savior:
Nothing that’s already defeated can use you as a host.
It may look like you’re surrounded, but you’re surround by Me, your Lord and Savior.
Now I know that last thing I heard is indeed a song called Surrounded (Fight My Battles), but the when I hear the song and further more when I open my mouth and sing the song, my faith rises. Faith comes from hearing. I heard the Lord say that nothing that is already defeated can use me as a host. That means no virus can use me as a host. No fears can use me as a host. No demons can use me as a host. Anxiety can’t use me as a host. Depression can’t use me as a host. NOTHING ALREADY DEFEATED can use ME as a host to carry out an agenda that is counter to the Kingdom of God’s agenda!
As I was listening to the Holy Spirit this morning, this thought came to mind: Life is not what you make it, life is what the Lord God created for it to be. When we line our lives up with what the Lord created, He will make everything alright!
As we continue to go through daily adjustments in our country and in the world, remember that God is with us. Remember that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. You can hear it through song, read scripture from the Bible out loud, and during your conversations with the Holy Spirit.
I pray that today’s blog & podcast encourage you to HEAR what thus said the Lord!
One of my favorite songs right now is Waymaker. The song says, even when I don’t see that you’re working. Even when I can’t feel it, you’re working. You never stop, you never stop working. Even when I can’t see it, you’re working. Even when I can’t feel it, you’re working. You never stop, you never stop working.
And the Bible says in Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (NKJV)
Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see. (CEV)
This is what it means to trust God: We will be sure about the things that we hope for. We will be sure in our minds about things that we cannot even see. (EASY)
Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. (Amplified)
The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd. (The Message)
I shared all of those different translations because one of them hit different for you. One of them you hung on to as your preferred translation. Hold on to it. Grip it. Say it out loud every day, several times a day. Play songs that reflect that verse. When you do this, you will hear your faith rising. You may not even feel it rising, but one thing I know for sure is that eventually, you will.
What are you listening to today? Will it be the news, the naysayers, the non-believers or will you listen for the still small voice through your conversation with the Lord God, almighty!
I hear VICTORY. I hear the sound of defeat. I hear chains falling. I hear My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ saying: nothing that’s already defeated can use you as a host!
Hearts and Hugs!!
