Happily Waiting Patiently
WHAT DID MY LORD GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING?

As I move my fingers slowly on this keyboard,I got to be totally transparent with y’all this morning. I am soooo sleepy! But I am pushing anyway. If I can push to get to the prayer closet, I know the Holy Spirit can use me and intercede on my behalf.
Why am I so sleepy? It was movie night at my house last night and we started a little later than usual. I even dozed off towards the end and my kids said, “you missed the parts of the movie where your eyes were closed.” I told them I still was listening to it though. LOL! Y’all, I have been waking up to pray since February 2019 and I know good and well that if I don’t go to bed on time for several nights, it’s a literal domino effect on everything that I am doing. But we still must get to our prayer post. Someone is waiting on us to pray on their behalf. Thank God for the person who is assigned to pray on my behalf, because I was able to push through.
This morning I heard the Lord say three things. He may have said more, but I think I may have dozed off. Just being real. I told Him to please repeat anything that I may have missed. LOL! See when you have a deep relationship with Holy Spirit, you recognize that you don’t have to be perfect. It took me a minute to get this place though y’all because I always wanted to come to Him perfect. But through sleepy days like today, He shows me that I am to depend totally on Him.
Holy Spirit said:
Stick to what I said, not what “they” said.
I will always remain faithful to my covenant.
I flipped open my Bible for the Scriptural Surprise and read Isaiah 31. In reading my Word, the Holy Spirit spoke to me via verse 18 where it says:
Therefore the Lord is waiting to show you mercy and is rising up to show you compassion, for the Lord is a just God. All who wait patiently for Him are happy. Isaiah 31:18 CSB
The last line really stood out. My posture during the wait should be patient and happy. Most of us are frustrated when we are waiting. We actually get impatient as we are waiting. But here we see in scripture that All who wait patiently for the Lord are happy. We shouldn’t be sad because we are waiting.
Whether you’re waiting on the answer to a prayer or for customer service to finally pick up and address your problem, our posture should be patience and our emotion should be happy. Why? Because we can stick to what God said; He is faithful to His word; and we can be happy knowing that He is a just God who will show us mercy and compassion.
I am thankful and happy even as I wait because I know the Lord’s timing is always perfect.
