When Jesus Says Come…How Fast Are You Moving?

WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING

I got a few questions for you. When Jesus calls you to do something, how quickly do you answer Him? Is it on the first ring, the 2nd ring, or the 3rd ring? Do you check caller id to make sure it’s Him? Do you doubt that it’s really Him calling you?

This morning the scriptural surprise came from Matthew 28, and then I kept reading right on into the first two chapters of Mark. I noticed in my reading that when Jesus was choosing His disciples, they all responded RIGHT THEN, IMMEDIATELY, and AT ONCE. And even when Jesus cast out an evil spirit, it happened as soon as Jesus said, “Come Out.” And then when Jesus healed Simon’s mother-in-law, it was suddenly!

This morning I heard the Holy Spirit remind me of urgent obedience. He said, when I call you to do something, do it AT ONCE. Don’t hesitate.

Even when I look back at my reading of the last chapter of Matthew where it talks about the Resurrection, when the angel told Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to COME and see where body WAS and then to quickly GO and tell the disciples Jesus had been raised from the dead, the women RAN QUICKLY. One thing that stood out the most is that they were kinda joyfully afraid. But they still went anyway. And as they went, Jesus met them on their way.

The Holy Spirit is saying, when you quickly move in the direction that I have instructed you to go in, you will encounter Me!! Yes you may be a little afraid (and joyful at the same time), but Go when I say Go! Come when I say Come. Do what I say Do.

I also noticed that in Matthew 28, that even though the disciples followed, obeyed and worshipped Jesus, some of them still doubted. And Jesus came and told them, GO and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey all the commands I have given you. And BE SURE OF THIS: I am with you always, even to the end of the world.

All of this is an encouraging word for us this morning. Sometimes you may be afraid, sometimes you may experience a bit of doubt, but when Jesus calls you to GO, answer immediately and do what He says. When you do, you will surely have an encounter with Him and He will always be with you…forever!
