Welcome to the OABG Daily Blog and Daily Podcast!
What a restful night!! Yes! That’s exactly how I want to open up this morning, with a praise of thanksgiving to God for a restful night of sleep! Y’all know yesterday was the first official day of Home Schooling through Classical Conversations and it was our Community Day! I can’t even begin to tell you how God wow’d me and my kids with such a fun learning experience! I was so into the class (the one that I am not the tutor), that I felt like God didn’t just do this for my kids, He did it for ME TOO! I am relearning all about grammar and writing, and to be honest, I may come out of this knowing math without using my fingers! LOL! Yes I still use my fingers! I didn’t learn math God’s way…clearly! LOL!
This morning I didn’t do the super early rise because for one, I was super tired yesterday and needed the additional rest and two, I am a better momma if I am well-rested! But I got up, prayed in the Spirit, and read Proverbs 26 for the Scriptural Bible Study. But while I was praying, the Holy Spirit gave me some research instructions for the podcast that I wouldn’t have otherwise gotten, if I had not spent that time with Him this morning. But He didn’t give that to me right out the gate. He waited until AFTER I gave Him praise and thanksgiving. Think about it. Would you want to cut off praise, compliments or adoration from someone you love and someone you know loves you? Nope you wouldn’t.
Now Proverbs 26 was mainly talking about fools and how they behave and why we shouldn’t be foolish. Here’s what I got from reading it:
Sometimes it’s best to ignore fools, other times it may be wise to reply using their own argument to demonstrate how foolish they are.
Fools repeat foolishness
Gossip keeps up conflict.
Gossip and quarreling are sins.
Don’t look at yourself and think you are wise all by yourself.
Don’t be deceptive and then make the excuse that you were just joking or just playing.
As parents we are to model to our children how to live a life from the divine perspective because that kind of life will bring blessings and joy.
Don’t hire fools!
Now that last one from Verse 10 really stood out. It says in the message translation: Hire a fool or a drunk and you shoot yourself in the foot. Bottomline: Don’t hire no fool! That’s bad for business. And many of us have had interactions with foolish people with badges and name tags. We don’t want to patron those places anymore and we didn’t want those folks wearing badges that didn’t honor the code.
But speaking of the law, which I surreptitiously referred to in the previous thought, today I kept thinking about something I heard recently about how to pray. That our prayers are petitions and that when we pray, we aren’t to be coming to God begging, we are to plead our case, according to His Word. I was watching Dr. Myles Munroe and many of you have often heard me refer to him, but he has taught me so much about the Kingdom of God and how it all works.
The Holy Spirit brought to my remembrance another book I had read about pleading our case to the Lord in prayer and that’s actually the title of the book, Plead Your Case, by Kenneth E. Hagin. In this book, which I highly recommend you read, Brother Hagin says that when we pray we are to remind God of his promises, lay our case before Him legally, and plead our case as a lawyer. A lawyer is continually bringing up law and precedent. We are to bring His Word - His covenant promises. We are to find the scriptures that cover our case and lay the matter before Him. Be definite and find the scriptures that definitely promise you those things you need. When we come according to God’s word, God’s word does not fail. Isaiah 55:11 confirms this:
It is the same when I give my word to people. It will not return to me without any result. No! My word does what I want it to do. What I promise to do will certainly happen. Isaiah 55:11 Easy English Bible 2018
This morning I encourage you as I am encouraging myself, we must be wise enough to read the Word of God to know what it says so that we can plead our case in prayer. I know that praying in the Spirit is the best way to pray when you don’t even know what to pray. How amazing would it be though to plead our case for what we know and pray in the Spirit for what we don’t know? Now that’s the kind of prayer life I want. That’s the kind of prayer life I have. Those are the conversations I want to have with God daily. That is the kind of conversations I am having with God daily.

SALVATION PRAYER
If you’re not a believer and have a desire to be, openly confess and declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer out loud, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community and start having a conversation through prayer with God every day. And let me be the first to welcome you to your new life with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. YAAAAY!!!!! You made the best decision you could ever make! Feel free to email me at info@onassignmentbyGod.com and let me know about your newfound life or if you need prayer for anything.
