If You Believe ME, Act Like It!

How differently would you behave if you saw evidence of your prayers being answered? That’s how you should behave even when you can’t see it yet. That’s the mindset and posture I want you to walk in daily. That’s faith acted out. Fon, your prayers have been answered so look at every situation you have prayed about with that in mind. Look at the situation with that on your heart. That’s trusting Me. It is truly ALREADY DONE! Do you believe me?
This morning as I was praying, the Holy Spirit showed me something. He showed me that sometimes I don’t act like I believe what He said. I thought about His question regarding how differently I would behave. When I think about how I would respond if I actually saw it, that’s definitely a bit different than how I act now.
I heard the Holy Spirit say: If you believe Me, ACT LIKE IT!
This morning I had to ask for forgiveness for acting like I don’t believe. I repented for allowing doubtful thoughts to run around in my head even for millisecond. I said: Lord, forgive me for looking at my situations that I have prayed about, and thinking thoughts that go against what you have already said about it.
The scripture that came to mind about “thinking” was Philippians 4:8. It says:
Finally, my brothers and sisters, always think about what is true. Think about what is noble, right and pure. Think about what is lovely and worthy of respect. If anything is excellent or worthy of praise, think about those kinds of things. ~ Philippians 4:8 NIRV
Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies. ~ Philippians 4:8-9 The MSG Translation
Everything God said is true. Our thoughts lead to actions, so if my actions aren’t showing that I believe, my thoughts must not be thinking on what is true.
When I flipped open my Bible, I landed in Proverbs. Here comes the wisdom! My attention was brought to Proverbs 21:2 which says: All a person’s ways seem right to him, but the Lord weighs hearts. The Dr. Tony Evans study notes explains that verse this way: “We don’t always know why we do what we do, and at times we can fool ourselves into thinking that our reasons are God’s reasons. The Lord looks right through to the very center of who we are, and he knows exactly what drives us.”
The Holy Spirit was wanting me to see that my heart posture was out of alignment with my faith. Our heart is our mind, so I thank Holy Spirit for bringing to my attention, when we believe what God said, our mindset and heart posture should reflect our belief! Sometimes we have to check ourselves and get back in alignment with our faith and with our trust in God.
SALVATION PRAYER
If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
