Do you eat oatmeal? I know some people don’t eat it because of the texture, but that’s what I love about oatmeal. The texture, the thickness, the sweetness, the creaminess, the warm feeling going down my throat on a cold day. And don’t let me add any toast to it! My goodness, you talking about a good breakfast right there! Add a bit of turkey sausage (I said turkey even though I grew up eating good ole pork sausage, but I have had to recently stop eating pork).
So why am I talking about oatmeal on the blog/podcast this morning. Because you can have oatmeal in an instant. Now I know. There is the long drawn out way to make oatmeal and some people will argue it taste better that way, but my point is, if you want oatmeal, you can have it in an instant. Same for my grit lovers too! Yes I love oatmeal and grits. Hey, what do you expect from a southern born and raised girl. I mean the word GRITS itself is an acronym for GIRLS RAISED IN THE SOUTH. LOL Okay let me keep moving because me and the Holy Spirit had a conversation today that had me hollering in the prayer closet. If you haven’t had one of those conversations with Holy Spirit yet, keep talking to Him. It’s coming!
Okay, so every time the Holy Spirit preaches to me, I always be like… “nah, Holy Spirit, you gonna have to write this blog because I’m so excited and I don’t want to leave nothing out!” LOL! So I am going to give it to y’all like He gave it to me and trust that He will preach it to you too through these words. I already know as I write this, the audio for this one is gonna be LIT!! Can somebody say…I’m about to preach this thang!! And I ain’t no preacher, but don’t push me! LOL!
The Holy Spirit said:
People can change.
I can change people instantly.
Have faith
Read My Word
Listen to My Word
I can change you from sinner to set free in an instant.
I can change you from being all into sex to a life of purity.
I can change people but they have to tell me they want to change.
I can change everything…JUST LIKE THAT!
I can change your life SUDDENLY!
You could be going down the wrong path and I can change you to suddenly go down the right path.
Yep I can change you from Single to Married!
Yep I can change you from Childless to Parenting!
Yep I can change you from Broke to Wealthy!
Yep I can change you from Jobless to Job Creator!
I can change you in an instant and I can change your whole situation in an instant.
But sometimes I will crock pot your situation vs microwave it because I want to bring out a whole different flavor in you! (SHEESH)!
Everything won’t be instant, but that doesn’t mean I can’t make everything change in an instant.
Have faith. What you are praying for will be yours.
What I want for you will be yours.
Make sure what you want aligns with what I want for you.
Read My Word and it will tell you exactly what I want for you!
You can go from being sick to healed…in an instant!
You can go from being used by the enemy to being used by ME…in an instant. (Luke 8:2)
You can go from being immature one day and to being mature the next day.
You can be demon possessed one minute and dressed and in your right mind the next minute…because I can do that! (Luke 8:35)
You can go from having a blood issue for 12 years to instantly being healed!
Your faith can save you (Luke 8:48)
Don’t be afraid, only believe, and you will be saved! (Luke 8:50
Once again, it’s a Holy Spirit takeover on the podcast and blog today! Y’all, the Holy Spirit is saying I can change your whole life in an instant! He said all this to me and I was writing it down as fast as I could. Then I opened my Bible for the Scriptural Surprise and land right on Luke 8! You can’t tell me Holy Spirit wasn’t moving this morning y’all. LUKE 8!
Come on, open your Bibles to Luke 8 right now and just look at all the ways Jesus changed things in an instant. What got me to hollering like an old church lady this morning was when I read Luke 8:2. It’s talking about Jesus traveling from town to town preaching the Good News and the twelve disciples were with Him, but it was also some women WHO HAD BEEN HEALED OF EVIL SPIRITS AND SICKNESS that were traveling with Him too! Mary, called Magdalene was with Jesus and she used to have 7 demons in her, but was now healed and traveling with Jesus.
It reminds me of the story of Saul (whose name was eventually changed to Paul), but when he was Saul, he was on his way to Damascus to seek out and arrest followers of Jesus, but then he had an encounter with Jesus! And next thing you know, Saul was in the synagogues preaching about Jesus and proclaiming Jesus is the Son the God! I love how the Passion Translation tells the story in Acts 9:20:
Within the hour, he was in the synagogues preaching about Jesus, and proclaiming “Jesus is the Son of God!” Acts 9:20 TPT
You got to read the whole chapter of Acts 9 to see how God can change your life in an instant! But also read Luke 8 too to catch how God can change people AND situations in an instant. And what I love about this morning’s conversation is that while I can read in my Word about Paul, Mary Magdalene, Legion, the woman with the issue of blood, and Jairus’ daughter…all I got to do is look in the mirror and see how God can change someone in an instant. That someone is ME!! He changed me. And it did feel like it was in an instant. As soon as I fully surrendered my life over to Him, I became who you see and hear today.
I went from being in broken relationships, doing broken things, and being broke, and to receiving breakthrough after breakthrough after breakthrough in my newly transformed life. I went from praying for 2 minutes to praying daily for hours. I went from reading the Bible only when I went to church to reading my Bible daily. I went from drinking whiskey daily to take the edge off to praying daily to keep my edge sharpened in the Spirit! You can’t tell me God can’t change you in an instant. But the key to the change is that you have to want to change and ask God to come into your life and change you. You can’t be wanting to change and still do life the same.
And as you see in the Word of God, like with Paul, He can have an assignment for your life and while you out here in these streets, he can meet you right there in them streets and break you down where you won’t have a choice but to change. I think when you look at Kanye West, you can see a modern-day Saul to Paul. And just like people didn’t really believe Kanye had changed, they didn’t really believe Paul had changed either. Read the Word of God y’all. The Bible has every thing you need in it. I mean EVERY SINGLE THING! Don’t let the enemy make you think the Bible is a snooze fest. Matter of fact, if you think it’s boring, un-relatable, or complex, I can pretty much guarantee you that the enemy told you that! And it’s a straight up LIE! The Bible is EVERYTHING! Just do like I do and open it up and ask God to show you what He wants you to see. Just try it for 7 days straight and watch what happens!
God can change your life…IN AN INSTANT! How do I know…because He changed mine. And if He changed mine…He will change yours too. But you have to give Him permission to do it!
