Invitation vs Influence Fon

This morning out of obedience, I prayed with two sister friends. One of the friends has received a vision from the Lord to pray in the 3 am hour. So we showed up and prayed. Was it hard even for the friend who got the vision? Yes! Was it hard for the other two of us to show up in obedience? Yes! But when you are ON ASSIGNMENT BY GOD, you are ON ASSIGNMENT BY GOD!

During that prayer call, we prayed in the Spirit as my friend guided us with different prayer points from the Holy Spirit. One of the things she mentioned was this billboard advertisement we see constantly. I mean you would think no one else is buying ads other than this organization who wants you to hammer it in your head that the delta variant is deadly, get vaxed today. Even my son counted how many times he saw the digital ad sign while we were out driving.

Holy Sprit said to me: Sin is deadly. Repent today!

It was a counter-ad that Holy Spirit was giving me. As a marketing person, I immediately got it. Then Holy Spirit said: Counter culture with Kingdom. He has said that to me before. I even have it written down at the top of my nightly prayer book.

As we kept the conversation going, Holy Spirit continued:

  • Advertise My Kingdom Agenda, not theirs.

  • Invite vs Influence

  • False Advertisement vs Documented Miracles

  • Fake News vs The Good News

  • Your walk and talk should represent Me at all times.

  • How will you advertise My Kingdom Agenda?

I thought about this matter of invitation vs influence. We offer Jesus Christ to people for salvation. The enemy often influences us to do sinful acts. Social Media is full of INFLUENCERS. What are they influencing us to do exactly?

When we were kids, our parents would always say, don’t be influenced by the wrong crowd. Well who is telling us that as adults? Makes you think right? That’s why we should be focused more on invitations than influencers.

While searching for scriptures, I found this article ( I love when Holy Spirit does that) that said there are essentially 3 invitations in the Bible:

  1. An invitation to rest.

  2. An invitation to discipleship

  3. An invitation to live in the realm of God.

Here are the correlating scriptures:

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. — Matthew 11:28 NIV

Abide in Me, and I will abide in you. A branch cannot bear fruit if it is disconnected from the vine, and neither will you if you are not connected to Me. — John15:4 VOICE

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, — John 8:31 ESV

Jesus: Come and follow Me, and I’ll send you to catch people instead of fish. — Mark 1:17 VOICE

Let us be encouraged to accept invitations from Jesus Christ and follow HIM only. Nothing else in this world is worth following than Him.

Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and have [already] defeated and overcome them [the agents of the antichrist], because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world. — 1 John 4:4 AMPC

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
