Is Obedience To God Really That Hard?
WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING

In obedience, the On Assignment By God Blog, now has an audio feature where you can listen to this blog!! Thank you for your prayers as I continue to be obedient and do what God says! Happy Listening!!
This morning has been absolutely amazing! It has been quite different too. I know that God is expanding me in my study of Him and His Word. I was listening intently to hear from the Holy Spirit this morning and before I even started praying, He encouraged me by saying, “don’t get weary in well-doing.” He knew I needed to hear that.
I struggled a bit getting up this morning. I was awake at 5, but I laid there listening to the praise and worship music for a little bit before I got up. I honestly was wishing I could sleep in. But I got on up and headed to use the restroom before heading into the prayer closet. As I sat there, that’s when I heard the Holy Spirit encourage me with don’t get weary in well-doing. Did I feel immediate energy? Nope. But in faith, I kept going. And thanks be to God for the constant movements of my faith because eventually, I felt the power and the energetic push of the Holy Spirit as I paced back and forth in my closet and prayed in the Spirit.
When I came out of the prayer closet, I brewed a cup of coffee and grabbed my bible and journal. Now I don’t always do that, but this morning, I wanted coffee and Jesus. I sat there with my hot cup of coffee and listened. This is what the Holy Spirit said to me:
My commandments are basic.
Being obedient is not difficult, but it does require dependence on Me.
You can’t do it on your own.
You have to know Me and My commandments to know whether or not you are obeying.
Don’t assume or act like you know.
Study My Word so you can be sure.
Don’t perish because of lack of knowledge. (Hosea 4:6)
Don’t think that avoidance is a safe haven, because it’s not.
You can’t ignore Me.
You don’t have to know it all, but you do have to know Me!
After hearing this from the Holy Spirit, I started jotting down these questions (see the assignment questions below). As I was writing the questions down and thinking about my family, friends, associates, and YOU, I starting thinking: Is obedience to God really that hard? Why are we making it so hard to do?
When I think back to my old life, it seemed like sin was easier. But was it though? I mean sin created so much mess in my life, when I really paused long enough to see its effects. I wonder if that’s what we need to do more of?
Let’s take some time today and look at how being disobedient has made our lives harder than God ever intended. Then let’s focus on what real obedience to God really IS, not what we think it is, but what it really really is. The only way we can know what it really is, is if we study exactly what it means to be obedient. Like for real. Do you know what obedience really means? Could it be that the enemy has you over-thinking it? Could it be that your lack of knowledge is totally killing your opportunity to live an obedient life? Could it be that your sin is being painted as better but in reality, it’s wreaking more havoc than you want to give credit to?
See, you can only know that if you spend some time reflecting. Stop being so busy. Stop acting like you’re so important and don’t have time to reflect. If you got time to sin, you got time to repent. if you got time to do the sin, you got time to reflect on the sin and see its real effects on your life. The enemy DOES NOT WANT YOU TO SEE IT. Okay, think about that. The enemy don’t want you to realize that your little habits, your lack of knowledge, your disobedience is ruining your life. You are not living your best life out of God’s will. You’re not! You are not living your best life being disobedient to God’s commandments. But what are God’s commandments? Here is a resource I found that highlights 49 of them in one place for your convenience. Yes, even God’s Word is convenient with Google. Amen!
Grab that journal or a piece of paper and answer the assignment questions today. Don’t play yourself and think you are too busy to reflect or you have all this time to do it later. One thing you can’t control is how much time you got left. You have no clue. None of us do. But what I do know is that if you are breathing and reading or listening to this blog today, you got today.
Let’s be obedient. It’s not too hard…when you do it WITH GOD!

If you’re not a believer and have a desire to be, openly confess and declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer out loud, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community and start having a conversation through prayer with God every day. And let me be the first to welcome you to your new life with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. YAAAAY!!!!! You made the best decision you could ever make! Feel free to email me at info@onassignmentbyGod.com and let me know about your newfound life or if you need prayer for anything.
