Is That the Truth? Fon

Have you ever just thought about things you say that are simply not true? You’re probably like, nope. You probably think you only speak the truth and nothing but the truth so help you God? Right? LOL! So help us God is the truest part of that statement.

This morning during prayer time, which by the way, I have to share that I slept so good. I went to sleep with worship music playing and oh what a difference it made. My spirit must have been worshipping through the night because I actually woke up feeling good. But remember now, we can’t base our priority of prayer on feelings because you may not always wake up feeling good, but you do need to always wake up seeking God.

Anyway, as I prayed this morning I thought about lies. The first one that I thought about was one dealing with relationships. Now if you’re new to OABG, then let me be the first to share, I LOVE ALL THINGS RELATIONSHIP! I love digging into how people laugh, love, and live. I used to like getting all into people’s business and why they cheat and do dirt, but I have grown (praise the Lord). I know why they do all that stuff. SIN! That’s it. Not a long drawn out answer. It all boils down to being disobedient and out of God’s will and not doing life God’s way. That’s how drama can be a major part of your life.

So back to the thought I had about relationships and lies. You know how people in love say that a person completes them? That’s a lie. In my conversation with Holy Spirit this morning, He said, “No one can complete what I already completed. Rebuke the lies of the enemy. Don’t keep repeating lies that you grew up saying or hearing.”

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. —Psalm 139:13-14 NIV

So why we be out here talking about a man completes us or a woman completes us (for the men). God knit us together and we are wonderfully made. Holy Spirit said to me this morning: “Self-made anything is a lie. A man or woman completing you is a lie. I didn’t make you partially. I made you whole. And when sin causes deficiencies in you, you are to come back to the MAKER. I am the restorer. I can make you whole again. Plus, how can another human that I made, make you?”

Then y’all, to give me more truth, I flipped open my bible randomly to Luke 6. First of all, just read all of Luke 6 okay? Just do that today! But one of the headers got my attention. It says: Woe to the Self-Satisfied. This is for Luke 6:24-26. Go check it out. But the bottom line of those verses per my study notes from Dr. Tony Evans is that divine approval is more important than human praise. Don’t be out here spreading lies talking about self-made this or self-made that. God made you. And if you’re doing His will, He made you successful in that! It’s actually the sin of pride that would have you out here talking about self-made.

But again, go and read all of Luke 6. It includes the beatitudes and how to love your enemies and all that! Did you know you’re supposed to pray for those who mistreat you? We be out here spewing lies talking about an eye for an eye or doing something to get back at people! That’s a lie. The enemy’s main goal is for us to fall out of close relationship with God because of all these lies.

And you wIll know the truth, and the truth will set you free. — John 8:32 ESV

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. —2 Timothy 3:16 ESV

God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and truth. — John 4:24 ESV

I just love my Conversations With God!

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
