It Can Only Be God Who Gets the Glory Fon

I got to be straight up with yall…this morning was like straight up bible study class in the prayer closet. There was so much that me and Holy Spirit talked about, I was like, Lord how do I share all that.

Then I remembered that I don’t have to stress or worry, as long as I simply share our conversation.

So this morning, I heard Holy Spirit say: It can only be Me. No one else gets the glory.

I replied: Yes Lord, it can only be YOU! Only you can Lord! Nobody can like you can Lord!

He then said: It is all for My glory!

That’s what I heard Him say, but He gave me so much more depth in that conversation when I started seeking out biblical definitions and scriptures of the word glory. Lord knows (I mean He really knows) that I am unable to share my entire bible study, but in obedience I am sharing our conversation and His Word is inclusive of that!

Here are the scriptures that He spoke to me through:

So eat and drink and do everything else for the glory of God. — 1 Corinthians 10:31 NIRV

The heavens tell about the glory of God. The skies show that his hands created them. — Psalms 19:1 NIRV (I actually thought about this scripture before I made it to my prayer closet. I looked out the window on this morning when I got out of bed and thought about this scripture; which happens to be the scripture that my children learned in school last year)!

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. — Matthew 5:16 CSB

You are like that illuminating light. Let your light shine everywhere you go, that you may illumine creation, so men and women everywhere may see your good actions, may see creation at its fullest, may see your devotion to Me, and may turn and praise your Father in heaven because of it. — Matthew 5:16 The Voice

Then Jesus said, “Didn’t I tell you that if you believe, you will see God’s glory?” — John 11:40 NIRV

“I am the Lord. That is my name!
I will not let any other god share my glory.
I will not let statues of gods share my praise. — Isaiah 42:8 NIRV

Bring back everyone who belongs to me.
I created them to bring glory to me.
I formed them and made them.” — Isaiah 43:7 NIRV

When I looked up the definition of glory, I found a website with an article that had extensively defined glory and spoke about the complexities of how it’s defined in scripture. But I love how the author still gave this as a definition, which really gave me a deeper knowledge and understanding of “glory”:

GLORY IS (PRIMARILY) THE MANIFESTED PRESENCE OF GOD; it is His character, His attributes or characteristics visibly expressed; it is His weight being seen, His inestimable worth made manifest in His creation…

GLORY IS SOMETHING THAT IS VISIBLE… Whatever we finally determine glory to be, we can be confident that we can see it… It is heavy; it has to do with light; and it is visible…

As I went through this study, I kept thinking about what Holy Spirit said: It can only be Me, no one else gets the glory. And that’s when I thought about my daughter’s Latin class. She is a 7th grader (but I homeschool her through the Classical Conversations homeschool model) and she is learning Latin. One of her vocabulary words is GLORIA, GLORIAE and it means glory/fame. It is also a noun! Let that sink in. Glory is a person (God), place (God’s presence), thing (God’s visible manifestation).

Ohhh wee! Teach us Holy Spirit!

When I exchange the word glory with fame, Holy Spirit is saying: It can only be Me. No one else gets the fame (glory).

WOW!

I told yall today’s episode was packed full! I encourage you to be led by Holy Spirit as you read His Word and study more about His glory!

P.S. I just love my Conversations With God! Don’t you?

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
