Jump In With Both Feet!

New International Version

WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING

Today marks a day that we are to give thanks and spend time eating turkey and dressing with family. I always look forward to fellowshipping with my family and eating delicious meats, sides, gumbos, and desserts! Oh what a magnificent feast it will be! So Happy Thanksgiving to all of you who stopped by to read the blog today.

This morning, I got up once again before 5 a.m.!! I know right! It’s like the Lord is getting me going a bit earlier and I am not even sleepy when I get up!!! That’s what is so amazing about it. But I know it’s a holiday and you’re hanging with the fam, so let me get to what my Conversation was with the Most High today! It was another morning of flow and this time He gave me a vision of a runner!! Check out what He said:

You can’t run the race I give you with one foot in the world and one foot in the Word! You can’t run the race I set before you with one foot in scripture and one foot out. Imagine a runner running with his right foot in a big bucket and his left foot in the best made running shoe! He can’t run as quickly. He may still be running in teh race toward his destiny but he has a weight. He has a distraction. And while he may eventually get to his destination (if he doesn’t give up), he will get there a whole lot slower.

I heard the Holy Spirit say both feet in or both feet out. Pick!! Don’t be indecisive or double-minded.

The bucket represents your old life. The best made running shoe represents your new life. God gives us free will to choose, but a double-minded spirit is not of God. It’s of satan. He knows your destiny and he wants to keep you from it by having you think you can run with the bucket on your foot. You think you can just take the bucket off at anytime you want, but do you want to? See you have trained with the bucket. You have learned to run with the bucket. You have gotten used to the bucket. You actually sometimes think that if you remove the bucket (the way you trained), you won’t be able to run the race at all or that it will slow you down. But the Lord is saying either run with the two buckets or run with two shoes. Don’t go back and forth. Choose. Jump with both feet into your decision. Revelaton 3:15-16 says: ‘I know what you are doing. I know you aren’t cold or hot. I wish you were either one or the other! But you are lukewarm. You aren’t hot or cold. So I am going to spit you out of my mouth.’

I wrote a young adult Christian fiction book back in 2007 called Back and Forth and it was this very scripture that was the basis for the book. The main character really wanted to live right, but she kept going back and forth when it came to choosing celibacy or intimacy with her boyfriend.

This morning I read Psalm 111-114 for the Scriptural Surprise, but it was these verses that I Googled that speak to indecisiveness and really drives the message home.

  • James 1:8,22,25

  • Luke 16:13

  • 1 Corinthians 10:21

  • Revelation 3:15-16

  • 1 John 2:15

  • Matthew 6:24

  • 1 Timothy 3:8

  • 1 Kings 18:21 (check out the full story in verses 16-40). I LOVED THIS SHOWCASING OF GOD!

Today the Lord is saying we have the free will to choose how we want to live. That’s the risk He took when He created us and decided to let us choose. He is not a forceful Father, but a faithful one. He doesn’t want to force His love on any of us. He wants us to CHOOSE Him on our own. If on this Thanksgiving Day you find yourself like the runner in my vision this morning, where you’re trying to run this race of life with one foot in the bucket of the world, and the other foot running with Jesus, then I encourage you to stop running and choose Jesus. Joshua 24:15 says: "As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

I choose the Lord! I choose the best made running shoe to run the race that the Lord has set before me! I trust and believe my life will continue to be abundantly blessed and favored by God!

Hearts and Hugs and Thanksgiving favor to all!
