Let’s Talk abut the S Word Fon Strong James

Listen to the podcast version of this blog.

Today we are talking and having a whole conversation on the S word. Yes! That word that you tend not to talk to God about. The word that you sometimes talk to others about, including your spouse, your girlfriend or boyfriend, and even sometimes you may talk about it to a stranger if you’re bold enough.

The S word.

This morning as I was praying, I started thinking about the S Word and I remembered a talk I heard on it. Then I heard the Holy Spirit remind me that I needed to talk to Him about it. So I jumped up off my knees, ran out of the prayer closet and grabbed…my Bible! My prayer time was now to include a conversation about the S word.

Yes, the S word is Scripture. What did you think it was?

Recently I have been learning more about the right way to pray. And I was reminded yesterday during a sermon that I heard that we are to pray the scripture back to God. We are to say: YOU SAID THIS FATHER. And then repeat the scripture that speaks to our circumstance.

For example, this morning as I was reading Deuteronomy, chapter 7, for our Scriptural Bible Study (hmmm, now that’s a clue that we are to study His word so that we can converse about it); verse 15 says: The Lord will remove all sickness from you; he will not put on you all the terrible diseases of Egypt that you know about, but he will inflict them on all who hate you. So I can remind the Lord of His word if I am sick. Also Isaiah 53:5 says: And by His stripes we are healed.

This is just an example around sickness. But did you know that everything we deal with in our daily lives can be found in scripture? When we pray, we are to put God in remembrance of His word, according to Isaiah 43:26. He says: Remind me. Let’s argue the case together. Recount the facts, so that you may be vindicated. Then John 15:7 says, “if you abide in me, and MY WORDS abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.

What kind of conversations are you having with the Lord every morning? Are y’all talking about the S word? Are you reminding Him of what He said? Are you pleading your case with Him according to His word or are you just pleading?

Be encouraged this morning to study God’s Word, put Him in remembrance of His Word, and have tons of “S” word conversations with Him. And like I said earlier (when you thought I was talking about SEX), you can also have conversations about scripture with your spouse, your family and friends, and even strangers, if you’re bold enough.

Also I heard this yesterday and it was definitely worth sharing when it comes to you knowing whether or not you’re hearing from God. God sounds like his Word. If what you hear is His Word, then you’re hearing Him loud and clear.

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
