Now Who Do You Work For Again?
WHAT DID MY LORD GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING?

Not lately, but back before the quarantined days, people would always get to know you by asking this one question: So what do you do? Or this other similar question: Who do you work for? And if they were really nosey, they asked what school you attended and who your people were? Right? LOL! Yall know what I am talking about. They decided WHO you were or what kind of person you were based on your answers, especially the one about who you work for.
I can remember growing up in the South (Mississippi to be exact) and people asking this question to determine if you had money or not. LOL! Like working at a specific company determined the coins in your account. But that’s what people thought. They figured if you worked for the company that paid a lot, you had to be making a lot right? It didn’t matter if you were being paid the lowest wage in the company, you work for sew and sew, so you must have money to sow and sow!! LOL!! LOL!! Y’all know that was creative! LOL!
This morning as I pushed myself to get up and pray (it took me a minute and I laid in the bed listening to praise and worship music longer than I normally do), I thought about this question of who we work for. I was pondering this question after I had spent time in deep prayer for people I knew and people I don’t even know. I heard the Holy Spirit tell me to “Intercede and pray for those I put on your mind.” Now of course I do this but today I was more intentional in doing it. What do I mean by that?
Every morning during prayer, my mind tends to be going in so many different directions. I often try very hard to shut that down and focus on Holy Spirit. But this morning, I realized that focusing on Him exclusively and not being distracted is the very FIRST thing I do to honor Him, magnify Him, give Him glory, and give Him all my praise. But AFTER that, those people that randomly pop into my mind are popping up as a prayer pop assignment. Yes I made that phrase up. LOL! But like a pop quiz, the Holy Spirit pops people up on my mind and the assignment is for me to pray and intercede on their behalf. Instead of trying to not focus on them, the assignment is exactly to focus on them IN PRAYER. Isn’t it so good when you get revelation?
So I prayed for whomever the Holy Spirit popped on my mind. And when I say it’s random people! Honey Chile, it’s soooo random. I mean random like a person from my school years that I don’t see or talk to or even have as a friend on social media kinda random. It’s for government people. I even prayed for the state of Kentucky this morning as they have elections. I don’t know those people at all. I have only been to Kentucky one time. But that’s the message for us today. When the Holy Spirit prompts you to pray for people who pop up…PRAY! And when you pray in your heavenly language, you are praying the most perfect prayer you can pray.
As I opened my Bible for the Scriptural Surprise (and of course I asked the Holy Spirit to give me a specific word), I randomly flipped to 2 Chronicles, chapter 15. Go read it for yourselves. But before you go, let me tell you which verse popped out! VERSE 7!!!
But as for you, be STRONG; don’t give up, for your work has a reward. 2 Chronicles 15:7 CSB.
Y’all got to understand something. I DO THIS BLOG AND PODCAST now 7 DAYS A WEEK! Who do I work for? My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! And He just encouraged me on this Tuesday morning to be who He created me to be..STRONG, which is my actual NAME! He encouraged me not to give up. And He promised me that my work has a reward! When I read that verse in the Message translation it says: But it’s different with you: Be strong. Take heart. Payday is coming!” I ain’t waiting on y’all to get that!
See I know you look forward to the blog and podcast and I appreciate that so much! But some days, I feel weary. Some days I actually don’t feel 100%, but I push anyway, because I won’t stop until the Lord tells me to stop. But this word today was for me to BE STRONG! Don’t give up!
Check this out! There is a corresponding verse to that verse. I love that my Bible lets me know what verses correlates because this other verse drives the point right on home:
Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose]. 1 Corinthians 15:58 AMP
When I looked up steadfast, it means loyal, faithful, committed, and unwavering.
So when someone asks you, now who do you work for again? Be sure you’re ready to tell them you’re faithfully ON ASSIGNMENT BY GOD!

YOUR ASSIGNMENTS
What did the Lord God say to you in your conversation with Him this morning?
If the Lord were to bring you into the prayer closet for a work performance evaluation, would you be confident about the work you have been doing for him or would you be nervous?
REMINDER: Don’t forget to read the Scriptural Surprise below and see what the Lord says to you about it.
SALVATION PRAYER
If you’re not a believer and have a desire to be, openly confess and declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer out loud, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community and start having a conversation through prayer with God every day. And let me be the first to welcome you to your new life with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. YAAAAY!!!!! You made the best decision you could ever make! Feel free to email me at info@onassignmentbyGod.com and let me know about your newfound life or if you need prayer for anything.
