Open Your Eyes and Look Again!
Who was having pillow talk with the Lord this morning? Meeeeeee! LOL! I was like Lord, I just want to lay here with you while this praise and worship music is playing and just feel your presence surround me. I am such a relationship person and it blows my mind every day how intimate I have gotten with my Lord and Savior. It’s the best feeling knowing that I have relationship and not religion. It’s amazing to know that I can talk to him about anything. He is faithful. He won’t ever leave or abandon me. He will listen to me go on and on and what I love most is that He talks back to me!! Yasssss!
This morning I flipped my Bible open for the Scriptural Surprise to the 2 Kings, sixth chapter. The first words I saw were the Hope Words in my Tony Evans Study Bible (y’all know I plug this Bible every chance I get because it really has been such a tremendous help to my spiritual growth. Okay, so before I flipped the Bible open randomly, I asked the Lord for a fresh word. Here’s the fresh word I got:
You get sight in the spiritual realm when you exercise faith in the physical realm.
That means the Holy Spirit will show you things your naked eye can’t see when you just have faith! Where is your faith at this morning? Here’s a test to see where you are. Can you see things in the spiritual realm? Now we know that the Bible says in Romans 10:17: So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ. So if break down the hope words above, we will get sight in the spiritual realm when we hear the message about Christ.
Now the question is, and this is not your assignment question unless you want it to be: How often are you listening to the message about Christ?
I know last year when I first started on this deeper spiritual journey and getting more intimate with the Lord, I was binge watching so many sermons. I still do. And my faith has increased like never before. I get excited listening to the word of God from men and women of God who He anoints in such a way that I can really understand and retain. So again, how often are you exercising spiritually?
Back to 2 Kings chapter 6.
This chapter is so good. My favorite verses are 15-18. Whatever Elisha prayed, the Lord answered exactly!
And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, “Strike this army with blindness.” So he struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked. 2 Kings 6:17-18
Basically an army had come to capture the prophet Elisha, and when his servant got up early that morning, he looked and saw that they were surrounded. He panicked and was like, Master what are we going to do? We are surrounded. But I love how Elisha answered him in verse 16. Elisha said: “Don’t be afraid, for those who are with US outnumber those who are with them.” Then we go into verse 17 where Elisha prayed for his servant’s eyes to be opened to see what he has just said!
When we align ourselves with the Lord, the enemy will always be outnumbered!!! Come on y’all! The song says, it may look like I’m surrounded, but I’m surrounded by you!! Check out this Tasha Cobbs Leonard snippet!
This morning the Holy Spirit also told me that He cares about even the smallest detail of my life. He said don’t try to figure it out because I have already worked it out.
Y’all whatever battle has presented itself in front of you for your physical eyes to see, may you exercise your faith and you see in the spiritual realm that the Lord has you surrounded and we are victorious in Christ Jesus!
Finally, on that same page of 2 Kings, I read this line in a feature story: Sometimes things have to get darker for us to recognize God’s hand better. God has already given us everything we need to fight and win. We are surrounded by the Lord and His army always outnumbers the enemy!!!
