Pliable Plans Fon Strong James

Welcome to the OABG Daily Blog and Podcast!

God has your tomorrow covered even though you haven’t been there yet. He’s got the plan. ~ Hope Words from the Tony Evans Study Bible

If you want to know the plan for your life, don’t look for the plan. Look for the PLANNER! ~ Dr. Tony Evans

This morning as I was praying to God, I said Lord I just want to be in your will and do what you want me to do. Forgive me for disobedience to your plan. Forgive me for slow obedience to your plan. Forgive me for being totally out of alignment with your plan. Forgive me for putting my plans before your plans.

And it was as that moment, I heard him say two words: pliable plans. What does pliable mean? It means easily bent; flexible; easily influenced. I knew God was talking to me about MY Plans, not His plans because everything He planned is already done. He was letting me know that my plans need to be easily bent to His Plans. My plans need to be flexible to His plans. My plans need to be easily influenced by His plans.

I wasn’t sure what Bible verse it was, but I knew there was a Bible verse (other than Jeremiah 29:11 that spoke about my plans verses His plans), so of course I Googled it. It’s in Proverbs 16:9.

A person’s heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps.” Proverbs 16:9

Now check this out. The Lord gave me two words, but spoke so much more as I sought those two words. Let me explain. I had been praying about the next book of the bible to study for the Scriptural Bible Study. Y’all know we just wrapped up the book of Acts a few days ago and I really enjoyed how we went chapter by chapter. I knew this was the new way that I would be taking the blog, so I asked God what book was next. Proverbs came up, but I didn’t immediately say, “Okay, Lord, Proverbs it is.” I actually was still praying about it this morning. LOL! And remember I said the Lord gave me the two words ‘pliable plans’ and it caused me to seek the scripture that dropped in my spirit. That landed me right in Proverbs, the very book I first thought about when I asked God what was next. But you see how God confirmed it? So beginning tomorrow, we will be studying the book of Proverbs.

Just to get you excited and wet your appetite a bit for the upcoming Scriptural Bible Study, the book of Proverbs is a key piece to scripture. It is a book about wisdom - the ability to take biblical truth and apply it to life’s realities. Doesn’t that get you excited? The intro in my Bible says Proverbs covers everything from parenting, marriage, money, and friends, to how to relate to God. If we use the wisdom of Proverbs as we make future decisions, then, it will save us time, grief, regret, and even money!! Wait what? I know you are ready to study Proverbs now right?

So now that we have our PLAN for the Bible Study, let’s be encouraged today to relinquish our plans over to God, the one who created us and already had a plan for us before we set foot on the earth. Let’s get into agreement with the plan of God for our lives.
