Promise Keeper

New Living Translation

WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING

Last night when I prayed, I said, “I’ll talk to you in the morning, Lord.”

Sometimes saying that will be enough to make you get on up when the praise alarm goes off!

Buuuuut….

It’s Saturday morning and even though I said that, I felt like I wanted to get juuuuust a little more sleep. HA! Guess what? My bladder said, Nope. Has God ever had to use your bladder to get you up out of the bed? LOL!

After I got up, you know I just went right on to the prayer closet because there was no way I was getting back in the bed when the prayer closet was right there. So I went in and this is what me and the Holy Spirit had a conversation about this morning (including the scriptural surprise of 1 Chronicles 15-17):

  • Always ask me how to do it. (1 Chronicles 15:13-15)

  • I can use whomever I want, to accomplish My will.

  • I keep my promises. (1 Chronicles 17:4-14).

This morning the conversation was all about the Lord being a promise keeper. As I was reading the Word, I journaled that we are to follow instructions and do things exactly the way the Lord says do it. We should worship the Lord, praise the Lord, and give the Lord our thanks! Then we should tell everyone about all the amazing things He has done. In 1 Chronicles 16:24, I was excited to see the word publish in the new living translation. It says, Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. We are to give thanks because He is so good and His faithful love endures forever (1 Chronicles 16:34). God will fulfill his promises because He is a promise keeper.

When we do what God tells us, the way He tells us, then we give Him praise and thanksgiving, He will give us what He promised us. In 1 Chronicles, we find King David moving the Ark of God. The first time they tried to move it, they didn’t ask God how to move it in the proper way (1 Chronicles 15:13), so they asked Him, and God helped them to move it!! That’s some encouragement right there. Not only will God tell you HOW to do it, He will HELP YOU do it!!! WOO WEEE CHILE!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!

After King David had the Levites properly move the Ark of God, they praised the Lord with thanksgiving! Read 1 Chronicles 16:7-36! It is a song of praise to the Lord! After the Ark of God was in place, King David returned to His palace and was concerned that while he was living all good in the cedar palace, the Ark of God was in a tent. But the Lord used the prophet Nathan to tell David about His promise. He basically said, His home has always been a tent moving from one place to another, and King David didn’t need to be concerned with building Him a cedar temple. But check out what happened next!! The Lord told King David (through the prophet Nathan), that He would build a house for him…A dynasty of kings!!! And the Lord said when David died, he would raise up one of David’s sons, and the son would be the one to build a temple for the Lord.

Now I just got to pause right there and say, when we are concerned about the Father’s house, He will be concerned about our house!!! He promised King David he would build him a house… an eternal dynasty! Isn’t that encouraging to me and you? He promised me and you in Psalm 37:4 that if we delight ourselves in Him, He would give us the desires of our hearts, and 1 Chronicles 17:25 says we can be bold in our prayers when God has revealed His promises to us!!!

I don’t know about y’all, but I am so glad I serve a promise keeper!! Our Father keeps His promises to us!

Do what the Lord says. Praise the Lord. Thank the Lord. And watch how the Lord keeps His promises to you and to me!

Hearts and Hugs!
