The Passion Translation

WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING

Good Morning to you! I pray that you prayed this morning! If you didn’t, definitely pray now and then try to pray tomorrow morning before your day gets started. You’ll notice a tremendous difference!

This morning, I want to share with you my conversation with the Holy Spirit. I prayed some mighty prayers in the Spirit, and when it was time to read the Word, I asked the Holy Spirit to make the Word come alive to me. And that’s exactly what happened. I landed in Nehemiah, chapter 9. I want you to go read it, but the one thing that stood out the most for me in this whole chapter, was verse 28. It really reflects real life. You know how we pray when things are going crazy in our lives, and we are desperate for God to do something or fix our mess? Or when we have strayed away from God? When we have allowed the weight of life to come upon us or the weight of other people to come upon us and allow us to fall in the opposite direction of God?

This chapter shows how merciful God is. I mean I know this to be true for myself because I know that I am always thanking God for another chance to get it right. In this chapter, it shows how every single time the people turned from God, He would hand them over to their enemies. But as soon as they would cry out to Him for help, He would rescue them. He did this over and over and over and over and over and over again. He rescued them repeatedly.

That’s real life ain’t it? We doing good. Being obedient to God. Growing spiritually. And then something seems to knock us off course. And we find ourselves out there doing life without God’s permission. And next thing we know, life gets hard. Things aren’t working out. Nothing is working the way we thought it would. All kinds of turmoil and strife is coming up against us. We fighting battles in our own strength and are losing big time. It made me realize that like the Israelite people in Nehemiah, we are being conquered by the enemy!

But God!!

God forgives. God is gracious and merciful. God is slow to become angry. God’s love is unfailing. When we cry out and ask God for help, He WILL ALWAYS come to our rescue, even if it’s the umpteenth time! In Nehemiah 9:28, it says in His wonderful mercy, He rescued them repeatedly! Praise God! That Word right there should encourage you today! I heard the Holy Spirit say this to me this morning:

  • I will always give you an opportunity to get it right.

  • I am always FOR you!

  • There is nothing you can do that will keep me from loving you! Come back to me.

  • Everything I have for you is already yours. You receive it through your obedience.

Isn’t that a great God? He is definitely a great God who cares about us and loves us and simply wants us to obey. Yes we may go back and forth in and out of sin, but eventually, that should get old and tiring to you. But thanks be to God, that even with our wishy washy behavior, when we cry out to God, He hears us and is ready to show us mercy. Praise God!

Let’s do our part to stay out of needing desperation rescue, and just stay in His presence at all times. Let’s not only call on God when we are in trouble, let’s converse with Him daily through a strong prayer life and allow Him to order our every step. He wants a stronger, deeper, non-desperate relationship with you. He loves you so much!

Happy Monday!!
