Slowing Down

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. — Mark 1:35 NIV
This morning during my very early in the morning prayer time with the Lord, I discerned His voice saying to me: Continue to slow down when you are spending time with Me. Don’t rush with Me. The rest you require is within the time you spend with Me. Slow down. There is joy in the slow down. There’s more peace in the slow down.
A thought came to mind about slowing down on my assignments and Holy Spirit said: Fon, you’re not slowing down on your assignments from Me. You’re slowing down as you spend time with Me. Enjoy the time with Me.
When I looked up the word slow, the only scriptures that kept popping up were scriptures about the Lord being slow to anger. As I looked at each scripture, I realized that when I slow down in my time spent with the Lord, I will be slow to anger and will experience the richness of His love.
The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. — Psalm 145:8 NIV
I looked up the word time in scripture and Ecclesiastes, chapter 3 spoke about a time for everything.
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: — Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV
But it was Psalms 119:103 that really spoke to me about enjoying my time with the Lord:
How pleasing is what you have to say to me— tasting better than honey. — Psalm 119:103 ISV (International Standard Version).
Check out how the Message translation on that verse though:
Your words are so choice, so tasty; I prefer them to the best home cooking. — Psalm 119:103 MSG
Now you know that’s good good when it’s better than the best home cooking! LOL! When we spend time with the Lord, let’s do as He said, and enjoy the time with Him. The more time we spend with Him, the sweeter our lives will be, sweeter than honey! And we know how slow honey drizzles…yes Lord!!
P.S. I just love my sweet conversations with the Lord…don’t you?

SALVATION PRAYER
If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
