Time. That was the main topic of my conversation with God this morning. As I mentioned before, I am leading a group of women at my church through the 1 Hour Prayer Challenge and it’s super important for me to be on time with my wake up & praise post in our group. This morning, I knew that it would be a full morning. It’s an early morning for the kids today due to jump rope club. And of course, the blog publishing must be done before 9 a.m. to reach your inbox on time! Today is Wednesday, so prayer service starts at 9 a.m. And I am just going to go ahead and tell y’all the truth, I be running late every single Wednesday. I think I made it early twice over the last whole YEAR since I have been attending!

Anyway, this morning as I was praying in my own language, I said “Thank you for the time.” I was thanking God for the time He had given me this morning with Him. But then He began talking back to me about time and here’s our conversation:

  • The time is for you to obey.

  • The time is for you to repent.

  • The time is for us to spend together.

Then I heard Him put emphasis on the word YOU when He said, “Thank YOU for the time. Thank YOU for the time you choose to give back to Me.” As I heard the Holy Spirit speaking to me, I realized that the time I think I have, is really time He has given to me. It’s not my time, it’s His time. And this morning, He was thanking ME for giving it back to Him!!!! I was smiling and feeling so loved when I heard that!!!

But the Holy Spirit wasn’t finished with the conversation. He said:

  • Not one thing you are doing is in vain.

  • You may not be able to see it now, but in due season, in due time, you will see what I see for you.

  • In time, you will see the time you shared with me, pay off in ways you can’t even imagine.

  • Thank YOU for the time!

  • Your time with Me is an assignment too.

  • I see how much time you dedicate to Me.

  • Don’t spend time on the wrong things.

  • Use your time wisely.

As I was sitting at my desk writing all that I was hearing from the Holy Spirit, I heard the tic toc of my wall clock. It was as if the Holy Spirit raised the volume on the clock so that it was the only thing I could hear and focus on at the time.

Then He kept talking:

  • You are at this place for an appointed time.

  • Be on time.

  • Cherish your time.

  • Obey in time.

  • Obey on time.

  • Be a good steward of your time.

  • When I say it’s time to go…GO!

  • When I say it’s time to rest…Rest!

When I got up this morning, I felt strongly that I needed to go ahead and shower and get dressed. I almost didn’t do it because I wanted to have “knee time” prayer verses “shower time” prayer. But I knew my morning schedule and it just made sense to do shower prayer time this morning. I know it was the enemy who was attempting to make me doubt that shower time prayer wouldn’t be as effective as knee time prayer, but I shut him up immediately by opening my mouth and praying before I even got in the shower. It was TIME to shut him all the way up! I didn’t have NO TIME for doubts this morning!

As I wrap up this blog today, I want to encourage you to give thanks for the time that the Lord has given us. He gives us time to get our lives right with Him. That part right there is worth shouting for because I am so glad that I am not who I used to be and God gave me the time last year to transform into who He made me to be. Thank you Lord for the time because none of us know when our time will come to an end.

Today’s blog post is dedicated to an old friend, Cheral Grayson Woodard, who passed away recently. What’s crazy is that I had actually mentioned her family in a blog post not too long ago. They were the family who lived near me as a child that always was in church. I was sharing how I saw them always going to church. They spent most of their time (from what I could see as a child), always in the House of the Lord. I was shocked to hear of her passing away, but as Mark 13:32-33 says: “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, not the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.”

So this morning, I Thank you Lord for the time.
