The Creator

God’s Word.

WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING

Yesterday in church service, my Pastor said something that stuck with me, even until this morning. He said in the original sin, Eve was focusing more on the creation vs the Creator. Eve got caught up by focusing on the creation (the tree of knowledge of good and evil) because of satan’s tactics and lies. She took her eyes off of what God said and focused on what God had made. She was looking at the tree of knowledge and saw that it was good for food, delightful to look at, and it was desirable for obtaining wisdom (Genesis 3:6). Again she was more focused on the creations of God, than God himself. And this is exactly what satan wanted…her to take her eyes off of God and what God had said! Is satan using that same tactic with you? Are you more focused on creations (people or stuff) or are you keeping your focus all on The Creator?

When I got up this morning, I still had this thought on my mind. The Creator vs the creation. I decided my prayer time would be to FOCUS ON THE HEAVENLY FATHER only. I decided to focus my eyes on my Lord and Savior. I didn’t ask the Lord for anything today. I just simply wanted to focus all of my attention on God, the Father. I prayed in the Spirit because I knew that my focus would be on God, the Father. Every thought that tried to enter my mind that wasn’t on God, the Father, I immediately went right back to focusing on God, the Father. I thought about who He is. I thought about how He works. I thought about how He sent His son Jesus to save me. I thought about Jesus’ sacrifice. I thought all about the Holy Spirit and the role He plays in my daily life. I focused all of my attention on God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. If my mind went anywhere but on them, I immediately refocused.

Again, I didn’t ask for anything because that would have been focusing on me, His creation. I simply focused on THE CREATOR!

Come near to God and he will come near to you… James 4:8

Today, I encourage you to focus on the Creator. Put Him first, not all the things He created (like yourself). Not all the things He can do for you. Not all the stuff you want. Just focus on the Creator, and not the creations. And you’ll experience a peace like never before. Plus I believe that God is pleased when we focus on Him and seek Him first in everything.

Check out the questions for today and answer them in your journal.

Pray. Listen. Write. Obey.
