Tighten Up!

This morning in my conversation with Holy Spirit, He told me to, “Tighten Up.” Now you may not be from a part of the world where I am so let me explain. Tighten up is synonymous with, “get it together” or “get organized” or “focus.” Here in the south, it’s not strange to hear a coach tell a player to, “tighten up out there nah” LOL!!!
Well yall know Holy Spirit talks to us how we hear and this morning I heard, Tighten Up! He said this:
Tighten up on budgeting and stick to it.
Stewardship: Be a great steward not just a good one.
Take stewardship to another level.
Have sticktoitiveness! STICK TO IT TIVE NESS! Sticktoittive!
Reset: Mentally reset on money.
Write the vision and then follow it.
Keep it front of you and don’t let the day-to-day tasks throw you off your focus for the the vision I gave you.
I wrote all of this down in my journal (this is what I suggest you do in prayer when Holy Spirit is communicating with you). Then I turned and opened my Bible to the book of Acts. Specifically, Acts 10 and 11.
I am reading and I have worship music playing in the background, but I’m in the closet and the music is in my bedroom. So I am reading Acts 10 right? I started at verse 1. Do you know right before I got to verse 34, my ears heard Chandler Moore of Maverick City Music saying these words off the song I Thank God: If He did it for me, He can do it for you.
Y’all at that very moment, I read verse 34 and it says: Peter began to speak: “Now I truly understand that God doesn’t show favoritism!!!! But in every nation the person who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. — Acts 10-34-35 CSB
My mind was straight blown to see that!!! I was like WHOA Holy Spirit!
Then I kept reading and I got to Acts 11:29 and it seemed to be the verse God wanted to highlight to me under the header: Famine Relief.
Each of the disciples, according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brothers and sisters who lived in Judea. — Acts 11:29 CSB
Right after reading that, I understood even more why Holy Spirit was telling me to Tighten Up!
Holy Spirit said: This is why I want you to tighten up on stewardship because a time for you to give according to your ability is coming and I want you to know what you are ABLE TO GIVE. Be generous. You are the lady with the money.
If yall don’t know the story about me being called “the lady with the money”, go back and read or listen to the episode called: Only God.
I recognize that Holy Spirit often is giving me words for things to come. He is giving me assignments and instructions so that I can be prepared for what is to come. Now it sounds like a famine or something where people will need more help is coming and He is saying to me (and to you too)…TIGHTEN UP!
Now before I go, do yall know the Lord was still talking to me about yesterday’s episode entitled: Stop All That Cussing? Let me tell yall how He brought it back up right in my scripture study for today!!
In Acts 11:25-26, it is talking about when the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. Go read it. But Dr. Tony Evans study notes in my Bible said this: it was in Antioch that disciples of Jesus were first called Christians (Acts 11:26); they were named for the One whom they worshiped and obeyed. If we are going to bear Christ’s name in the world, then we must likewise bear his attitudes and actions, his character and conduct.
Boom! You can’t be no cussing Christian!!! You can’t be a Christian that cuss a little either!
P.S. I just love my Conversations With God! Don’t you?

SALVATION PRAYER
If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
