From Useless to Useful

WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING

Good Tuesday Morning to you all! Let me first just pause for a moment to acknowledge every person who is reading this blog. I appreciate you so much for words of encouragement, your feedback, your testimonials, and just your obedience to God to read it. Some days the weight of this blog is on me to perform and be perfect, but every time I feel that way, God reminds me that He told me to do this, so all I need to do is keep my eyes on Him and let Him use me to do it. Being used by God is exactly what me and the Holy Spirit had a chat about this morning when I turned my bible to Philemon in the scriptural surprise. Let’s get into the conversation! Here’s what the Holy Spirit said to me:

• Let ME tell you what’s useless and useful. You don’t need to be the judge. You can’t be the judge. You can’t see what I can see about people’s hearts and motives, so don’t even try. Let ME do it.

• What may have been useless six months ago is useful now, but I will tell you what is and what isn’t.

• Don’t count people out because of their past mistakes with you. I can turn them around, just like I turned you around.

• Let ME be the judge.

• Don’t limit ME with your thinking because my thoughts and ways are higher than yours. Remember this now, when you think a person can’t change in a short amount of time. I did it with you, so why can’t I do it with them.

• My timetable is not your timetable. I can change things suddenly!

This word this morning was so good! I was reading Philemon and this is where Paul had written a letter to him asking him to help Onesimus. Apparently at one point, Onesimus wasn’t much help to Philemon. But now Paul was telling Philemon that NOW, Onesimus can help both me and you (Philemon 1:11).

How many of us have counted people out because of how they USED to be? Or what they USED to do? This morning, the Holy Spirit told me that I can’t be judging people and counting them out because of their past. And I totally get it! What if y’all decided not to read this blog because of my past mistakes, even though you know you feel the Holy Spirit talking to you through it? The enemy wants us to harbor unforgiveness and just see people for who they USED to be. But God is saying…nope, don’t do that! I can change people suddenly. So stop putting your little natural timetables on people that I have supernaturally changed!!!

WOW!

If a person used to be useless and God is telling you they are now useful, then we should take heed to what the Lord is saying to us. I was once not allowing the Holy Spirit to use me, which in essence, I was being useless. But now, God is using me in a mighty way. I am being USEFUL for Jesus.

Be encouraged to not judge others and allow God to use you in the fullest way!
