What Y’all Doing? Fon

You remember how your parents or teachers or someone that left you alone for a little while would come back and say…what y’all doing up in here?

Well that’s pretty much what Holy Spirit asked me this morning. What are you doing?

I heard 4 words and 4 corresponding questions from Holy Spirit:

4 Words:

-Commanded

-Called

-Assigned

-Authorized

4 Questions:

  1. Are you doing what I commanded?

  2. Are you doing what I called you to do?

  3. Are you doing what I assigned you to do?

  4. Are you doing what I authorized you to do in my name?

These questions Holy Spirit asked me this morning sparked me to seek Him. The questions required more time with Him to know what His commands are; His calling on each of our lives is; His assignments for us to do; and to assess if we are using His name as He authorized us to do.

Here are a few scriptures I found as I sought the answers to these questions from Holy Spirit:

Commands

“Jesus replied, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your mind.’ (Deuteronomy 6:5)” — ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22:37‬‬

“And the second is like it. ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ (Leviticus 19:18)” — ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22:39‬‬

Calling: We are called to know God, make Him known, share the Good News of the gospel, obey Him, and serve him. Our calling is what we are made for, the specific good works which God has prepared for us to walk in beforehand!

“We are God’s creation. He created us to belong to Christ Jesus. Now we can do good works. Long ago God prepared these works for us to do.” — ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:10‬‬

That’s because God chose us to live pure lives. He wants us to be holy. Suppose someone refuses to accept our teaching. They are not turning their back on us. They are turning their back on God. This same God gives you his Holy Spirit. — 1 Thessalonians 4:7-8 NIRV

So you must go and make disciples of all nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. — Matthew 28:19 NIRV

There are different kinds of gifts. But they are all given to believers by the same Spirit. There are different ways to serve. But they all come from the same Lord. — 1 Corinthians 12:4-5 NIRV

Assigned: God gives us assignments to fulfill His purpose. Jesus had the ultimate assignment and I am so glad he was ON ASSIGNMENT BY GOD!

Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” — Luke 22:42

Authorized:

“And I will do anything you ask in my name. Then the Father will receive glory from the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name. I will do it.” — ‭‭John‬ ‭14:13-14‬‬ NIRV

“I have given you authority to walk all over snakes and scorpions. You will be able to destroy all the power of the enemy. Nothing will harm you.” — ‭‭Luke‬ ‭10:19‬‬ NIRV

As you go, preach this message, ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal those who are sick. Bring those who are dead back to life. Make those who have skin diseases ‘clean’ again. Drive out demons. You have received freely, so give freely. — Matthew 10:7-8 NIRV

But I can’t let yall go without sharing this Message translation of Matthew 10:5-28!!!

Jesus sent his twelve harvest hands out with this charge:

“Don’t begin by traveling to some far-off place to convert unbelievers. And don’t try to be dramatic by tackling some public enemy. Go to the lost, confused people right here in the neighborhood. Tell them that the kingdom is here. Bring health to the sick. Raise the dead. Touch the untouchables. Kick out the demons. You have been treated generously, so live generously.

9-10 “Don’t think you have to put on a fund-raising campaign before you start. You don’t need a lot of equipment. You are the equipment, and all you need to keep that going is three meals a day. Travel light.

11 “When you enter a town or village, don’t insist on staying in a luxury inn. Get a modest place with some modest people, and be content there until you leave.

12-15 “When you knock on a door, be courteous in your greeting. If they welcome you, be gentle in your conversation. If they don’t welcome you, quietly withdraw. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way. You can be sure that on Judgment Day they’ll be mighty sorry—but it’s no concern of yours now.

16 “Stay alert. This is hazardous work I’m assigning you. You’re going to be like sheep running through a wolf pack, so don’t call attention to yourselves. Be as shrewd as a snake, inoffensive as a dove.

17-20 “Don’t be naive. Some people will question your motives, others will smear your reputation—just because you believe in me. Don’t be upset when they haul you before the civil authorities. Without knowing it, they’ve done you—and me—a favor, given you a platform for preaching the kingdom news! And don’t worry about what you’ll say or how you’ll say it. The right words will be there; the Spirit of your Father will supply the words.

21-23 “When people realize it is the living God you are presenting and not some idol that makes them feel good, they are going to turn on you, even people in your own family. There is a great irony here: proclaiming so much love, experiencing so much hate! But don’t quit. Don’t cave in. It is all well worth it in the end. It is not success you are after in such times but survival. Be survivors! Before you’ve run out of options, the Son of Man will have arrived.

24-25 “A student doesn’t get a better desk than her teacher. A laborer doesn’t make more money than his boss. Be content—pleased, even—when you, my students, my harvest hands, get the same treatment I get. If they call me, the Master, ‘Dungface,’ what can the workers expect?

26-27 “Don’t be intimidated. Eventually everything is going to be out in the open, and everyone will know how things really are. So don’t hesitate to go public now.

28 “Don’t be bluffed into silence by the threats of bullies. There’s nothing they can do to your soul, your core being. Save your fear for God, who holds your entire life—body and soul—in his hands.

— Matthew 10:5-28 MSG

This message translation just really set me straight!!!!

In my own version of this: Jesus is like look, you trying to travel and you got folks right in your neighborhood that you need to cast out demons and heal!!

Who you gonna heal today? Who you gonna cast a demon out of today?

Then it says…and you don’t need no whole bunch of equipment either 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 We out here trying to get it all the way together and the Lord is saying… eat breakfast, pack a lunch, and grab you some dinner and keep it pushing! You good!!! 😆😆

I don’t know about y’all but this right here got me excited! 🥳🥳

Let’s gooooooo! It’s folks out here suffering because we ain’t on our assignments!!! Let’s all be encouraged to seek Holy Spirit on the answers to these questions🥰

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
