When God Continues the Conversation Fon

This morning the Holy Spirit kept the conversation from yesterday going! And it had me thinking after I left out of the prayer closet, how many conversations has our God wanted to have with us, but we missed them because we were not in position to receive them?

Yesterday I was telling a friend of mine that I recognize how, for a good bit of my life, I have had a receiving problem. When people compliment my outfit or hair, I have a hard time receiving it and I usually dismiss it or wave it off. I have this saying: how you do one thing is how you do everything. Well what if I have been dismissing or waving God off unknowingly because of this “receiving problem?” What if, God wanted to keep talking to me, but I waved him off for my routine of the day or my schedule? What if I wasn’t in position to continue the conversation?

Today, I was in position though! Hallelujah!

Today when He kept the conversation going from yesterday, I was right there with pen, pad, and a listening ear! Hallelujah!

And here’s the thing…it wasn’t a long drawn out continuation conversation. It actually seemed liked it was in response to my interpretation of yesterday’s conversation. See yesterday, He said, “Start Again.” Then He said: “A fresh anointing this time around. I am with you this time around.” So I took that to mean that anything that didn’t work out that I had started before or anything that I had started on my own, that didn’t work out, He would be with me when I start it again this time around.

This morning, Holy Spirit continued the conversation and clarified it even more. He said: “Start again on things you quit too, not just things that didn’t work out.”

See!

It was a continuation and clarification!

Now my mind was able to think about some things that DID WORK OUT, but I had quit doing.

Y’all I feel like shouting! Why? Because I love having conversations with Holy Spirit! He knows my inner most thoughts. He knows if I need continuation and also when I need clarification. He knows when I am limiting my thoughts of Him, and He ensures that I don’t miss it! Doesn’t that make YOU want to shout too?

One of the things that immediately dropped in my spirit was how I used to walk around my house praying in the Spirit. I had not done that in a while. You best believe I got my butt to walking and praying and touching doors and praying in every single room in my home, including the bathrooms and the laundry room too!

I have been praying for the Lord to bless me with a new home, but He wanted to remind me to keep consecrating and anointing THIS HOME! See I needed to start again so that it can be FRESH on my mind when the new home does come! Hallelujah!

As I was praying, the song that was crooning from my speakers said these words: “Take me back to where we started, I open up my heart to you.” Oh y’all! The Holy Spirit was moving this morning. He wanted to me to START taking authority over my home AGAIN! Hallelujah!

——

When I got to the place of reading my scripture for the day, Psalm 23 (because today is February 23rd), He still was talking to me through, but this time through scripture!!

A psalm of David.

The Lord is my shepherd;
I have what I need.
He lets me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside quiet waters.
He renews my life;
he leads me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
Even when I go through the darkest valley,
I fear no danger,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff—they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Only goodness and faithful love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
as long as I live.

First of all, every verse speaks to me. But verses 1 and 3 really spoke to me on today! Verse 1: The Lord is my Shepherd. I have everything I need. Verse 3: He renews my life; he leads me along the right paths for His name’s sake.

In my Tony Evans Study Bible, the Hope Words say: Keep your eye on the Shepherd and you will make it through the valley.

When I wrote that down in my journal, I added that I will also make it through the deep. See the Lord is calling us deeper. And this morning, I kept singing, we won’t drown and we won’t drift; we won’t drown and we won’t drift; we won’t drown and we won’t drift. We must keep our eyes on Jesus at all times.

When I first started this prayer journey, my eyes were glued on Jesus and there was very little that could distract me. I was hungry for His presence, His voice, and His assignments. All I wanted to do was please Him. This morning, He kept the conversation going by telling me to start again on the things that I quit doing that DID WORK!

What works is that I pray all over my house. What works is that I surrender my plans daily. What works is that I stay hungry for His presence, His voice, and His assignments!

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
