Who Are You Looking At?

For whatever reason, I was super tired when I got up to pray this morning. I mean, so tired that I really didn’t have a choice but to depend on Holy Spirit to intercede for me. I got in the prayer closet and got on my knees and prayed in the Spirit. One thing I have learned over these last 20 months of consistent daily prayer is that I cannot miss my prayer time based on my feelings. Our prayers are absolutely necessary for others and for ourselves. Plus I don’t want to miss giving God the glory for WHO HE IS in my life.
So I pushed my way, got on my knees and prayed.
I felt so weak and tired, but I kept on anyhow (that’s how they used to say it back in the day). It was an old gospel song where they said “makes me wanna run on anyhow. ” That’s what I just thought about. That’s Walter Hawkins song, “What Is This.” But anyway, not sometimes, but all the time, when it comes to you time with the Lord, you got to RUN ON ANYHOW! You just got to make your way to Him.
And when I made my way, He told me this: Don’t keep your eyes on them, keep your eyes on Me. You don’t have to watch them, when you’re focused on Me.
Now I didn’t try to figure out who them was at the moment, but I knew Holy Spirit was telling me not to get distracted or caught up in thinking it was my job to watch anybody or keep my eyes on anybody. Nope, not my job. And since I am sharing this with you, not your job either. Our assignment is to keep our eyes on God, not them. So that’s what we will obediently do.
As I read Deuteronomy 24 for the Scriptural Bible Study, a few things stood out:
As people of God, we are to always show compassion for those in need.
As people of God, we should care for the most vulnerable groups within our society.
We must not forget what the Lord has brought US through and redeemed US from.
As I always wrap up with, be encouraged today to keep our eyes on God each and every day. There is so much trying to distract us, but let us not be deterred by the strategies of the enemy. We don’t have to watch nobody, because God sees ALL and if we keep our eyes on God, the one who sees all, He will surely tell us what to watch out for and who to watch out for. We don’t have to do it on our own. Amen!
SALVATION PRAYER
If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
