Welcome to the OABG Daily Blog and Podcast!
It’s Saturday and I am very thankful to have you here listening and reading today. I kept the energy I had yesterday and got ready prior to prayer and I am just loving the refreshed feeling. I actually did a lot of praying in the shower and when you pray, wash me Oh God, it hit different, as the young folks say. It’s like I can look at the drain and see all my dirt (not from my body because I ain’t that dirty y’all!!! LOL), but I can see the metaphorical dirt from life washing off. I can see it going down the drain with my spiritually eye.
I am learning to let the Holy Spirit LEAD me for real. Not just say that or write that here, but to truly be led by the Holy Spirit.
Now let’s jump straight into Acts 18, for the Scriptural Bible Study because I want to share what I got from reading and studying God’s Word this morning.
Paul had a job AND he did ministry.
The Lord can orchestrate where we are located so that we can witness to those around us so they may believe in the Word of God and be saved.
Paul struggled with fear and the Lord had to tell him not to be fearful. When we experience fear, we are to heed God’s word and go to Him in prayer, accessing his heavenly resources for our earthly circumstances, so that the “peace of God which surpasses all understanding CAN guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7)
All of us as believers will appear before the judgment seat of Christ so that He may judge our work on earth to determine our rewards.
We must allow for divine flexibility and welcome God to disturb our plans when he has other purposes for us. In Ephesus, they wanted Paul to stay longer, but he declined and said, I will come back again, if God wills. He was basically acknowledging that his life and plans were in God’s hands.
A man named Apollos was teaching and preaching the word of God, but he only knew so much. A husband and wife team (Aquilla and Priscilla) heard him preaching and noticed that he he needed more training on the word of God, so they privately pulled him to the side and explained the way of God to Him more accurately. We are not to point out people’s lack of knowledge of the word publicly.
As believers, we all should be equipped to explain the scriptures. All of us who claim the name of Christ should have a GROWING knowledge of God’s word and also have an ability to defend what we say we believe.
Not only are we to believe in Christ, we are to follow Christ.
See what happens when you commit to studying the Word of God, you get ALL OF THAT! I realized this morning during my prayer time that a lot of people I encounter are Christians, and we believe Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again on the 3rd day with all power in His hands. We are saved. We are believers, but many of lack the FOLLOWING Christ aspect in our lives. We believe in Jesus, but we don’t always FOLLOW JESUS. We don’t always follow His leading from Scripture, or even how He modeled his life when He was here on earth.
Today, let’s change that. Let us not only be believers, but let us also be FOLLOWERS OF JESUS too. Let us live our lives where people can SEE Jesus when they SEE us!
