Welcome to the OABG Daily Blog and Daily Podcast!
Most of you listening or reading today have a resume. If you don’t have one, you at least have a work history. Both the resume and the work history gives readers a snapshot of what you have done in your career and what kind of experience you have work-wise.
This morning as I was praying and having a conversation with God, I thought about and prayed about some of the assignments that I am currently working in right now. You’re listening (podcast) and reading (blog) to one of them. To some, it may seem like an unpaid gig, even though podcasts and blogs can both be monetized. As I thought about it more and even begin to wonder if I am doing enough or what else I should be doing, Jeremiah 29:11 came out of my mouth. I said, Lord you said you know the plans you have for me. Plans to prosper, not to harm. Plans to give me a hope and a future. We learned in last month’s study about putting God’s word back in His remembrance. So I did.
As I finished my prayer conversation with Holy Spirit, I opened up my Bible for the Scriptural Bible Study to Ephesians 2, and I had already asked the Lord to show me what He wanted me to see TODAY. I asked Him to speak to me this morning through His Word. And of course He did just that. Here is what stood out to me in Ephesians 2, which means these are the things Holy Spirit wanted me to see as He was speaking:
My life was dark and dead without God, but verse 4 says He made me alive with Christ and I was saved by grace!
Grace is the unmerited favor of God. It is the inexhaustible supply of God’s goodness, based on the work of Christ, whereby he does for us what we do not deserve, could never earn, and would never be able to repay.
We are seated in heavenly places with resurrection power and dominion and because of this seating, I have access to my spiritual privileges that God has placed in my account.
Eternity with God will be a non-stop, never-ending, blow-my-mind experience.
Grace is God’s gift. It is received, not earned. I can’t get grace through works.
Verse 10!!! For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for GOOD WORKS which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.
Dr. Tony Evans Bible Study Notes says: A good work is a divinely prescribed action that benefits others in such a way that God is glorified. Many Christians are unfulfilled and miserable because they have never gotten around to doing the WORKS God has for them.
We are saved by grace for GOOD WORKS and those works are to be lived out in the Christian dynamic called the church —heaven’s kingdom community.
As I read all of this, two words came to mind. KINGDOM RESUME! We all thank God everyday for his free gift of salvation; for Him loving us so much that He sent Jesus to save us. And while we could never repay Jesus for the debt He repaid for us on the cross, Ephesians 2:10 says we were created in Christ Jesus for Good Works. That means we should be willing to give our talents (which God gave us anyway), our time (which God gave us anyway), our resources (which God is the SOURCE anyway), back to God so that He can use us to advance His cause in the world. God didn’t just save us for His glory, He saved me and you for our usefulness on the way there!!
Back to the Kingdom Resume though. Do our resumes show our good works for the Kingdom of God? Will God be able to reward us for our good works? At the judgment seat of Christ, God will reward believers based on their faithful service to him. What will you show for your time here on earth? In 1 Corinthians 3:13-15 NLT it says: But on the judgement day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder (that’s me and you) has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value. If the work survives, that builder (me and you) will receive a reward. That means many of us will be saved, but our Kingdom Resume will determine if we get rewards or if we lose rewards. And I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be standing before the Lord with no good works to show.
Be encouraged today. Focus more on your Kingdom Resume, than your worldly resume. Make sure that you are doing good works. That means being fully surrendered and allowing God to use you to advance His Kingdom agenda. How do you know if you’re doing good works? A good work is a divinely prescribed action that benefits others in such a way that God is glorified. Or in my translation, you’re ON ASSIGNMENT BY GOD!

SALVATION PRAYER
If you’re not a believer and have a desire to be, openly confess and declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer out loud, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community and start having a conversation through prayer with God every day. And let me be the first to welcome you to your new life with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. YAAAAY!!!!! You made the best decision you could ever make! Feel free to email me at info@onassignmentbyGod.com and let me know about your newfound life or if you need prayer for anything.
