WHAT DID MY LORD GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING?
My Daily Conversations With God
Welcome to a new week!
One of the things I love about this assignment is that I get new mercy every single day! Doesn’t that make you excited to wake up for new mercy from the Lord? I know that I am grateful and thankful for His mercies that are refreshed every time I wake up, and He knows I need it.
This morning, I want to get straight into the Word that I heard in my conversation with Holy Spirit! He said:
I will finish what I started.
I am a FINISHER!
I will finish what I start.
I WILL FINISH what I start.
Wait WITH Me, not ON Me.
I’m going to be here till it comes.
I’m going to be here when it comes.
I’m going to be here while it comes.
I’m going to be here as you live it.
I’m going to be here…ALWAYS!
Stick with what I SAID, not what you SEE!
THEN they will know that I am the Lord!
My legs are moving and shaking as I do this blog y’all because the Holy Spirit didn’t come to play this morning! I felt a bit like I was fighting with the enemy this morning as he was trying to distract my mind even as I was praying. I remember at one point that I pressed IN more and I heard my heavenly language get a bit more aggressive. I knew that the enemy wanted me to be distracted, so I had to press in even more because I knew my prayers were even more necessary if he was trying to keep me from praying them!!!
When I was looking back over what I heard the Holy Spirit say, ALL OF IT was exactly what I needed to hear, but when He said, “Wait WITH Me, not ON Me, I was kicking so hard that I probably could have knocked some shoes in my closet over because that word right there y’all got me! He was saying I need you to change your waiting posture and your waiting attitude, Fon. While you are IN Waiting, I want you to recognize that I am WITH YOU in the wait. I am not off somewhere doing something else. I am holding your hand and I am right here WITH YOU in the wait. Because there is no place I would rather be that to be here WITH YOU while you wait. I want to be right here to assure you every time you think you’re waiting on Me, because you’re not. Everything is ALREADY DONE. It’s all about MY TIMING though so sometimes I will have you to WAIT. But I want you to change your posture and know that waiting WITH Me…you’re not just waiting by yourself On Me. (cue me running around and shouting and kicking in the prayer closet).
Then the other thing the Holy Spirit said that made me shout is: Stick with What I SAID, not what you SEE! Y’all I have seen things that the enemy wanted to use to throw me off from what God said. I was led by the Spirit to turn to the book of Genesis. In Genesis 3:6, Eve SAW that the tree was good, even though she has JUST TOLD the devil what the Lord God SAID in Genesis 3:2-3! Let’s read the Word of God:
1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”
4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.
Genesis 3:1-6 NIV
See the enemy will try to make you question, doubt, second guess, or be confused on what the Lord God SAID. But just like Eve, you know what the Lord God said to you!!! You know what He told you in His Word. You know what He told you that’s written in your journal. I’m really talking to myself and if you feeling this, then take it for yourself too. But we know what God told us. We know what He said. But Eve let what she SAW throw her all the way off track. I mean not just off track, because that was the biggest off track move possible.
Let us all be encouraged today. Don’t let what you SEE throw you off AFTER you have heard what the LORD GOD SAID!! The Lord God had said it back in the previous chapter, Genesis 2:16-17:
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” Genesis 2:16-17 NIV
Just like the Lord God had said it in the PREVIOUS chapter in Genesis, the Lord God has told you already in a previous CONVERSATION what is yours, what is coming, and in His Word, what He has promised. So when things start to LOOK opposite of that or don’t even remotely LOOK like that’s what will happen, you have to go back and read and remember and stand on what the Lord GOD SAID!!
What did the Lord God SAY?
Yeah I know what you see.
But what did the Lord God SAY though?
Oh you can’t remember? That means it’s time for you to READ THE WORD OF GOD. It’s time for you to spend time with Him in prayer and ask Him to tell you again so that you can write it down this time. That way, you can always pull it back out when you SEE something that ain’t (yeah I said ain’t) what He said!!!
The enemy, just like in the first book of the Bible, is coming to make you doubt what you heard what you heard the Lord God say, but just like Jesus had to do when He was tempted by satan, you have to tell him WHAT THE LORD GOD SAID… IT IS WRITTEN!!!
Holy Spirit said He is going to finish what He started in you; Wait WITH Him, not on Him; He will always be with you; You will know that He is Lord; and stick to what HE SAID, not what you see!
Are you willing to make these adjustments this morning?
