This morning I woke up to only what I could remember as a sorta crazy dream. I sat there trying to remember it but I really couldn’t. All I remembered was a part that was kinda crazy and outlandish. I kept trying to think of the dream further, but then I realized that I just need to come out of agreement with anything that wasn’t God in Jesus name! Period.
I kept laying there and I notice that all kinds of odd dreams come during the morning time where I should be just getting on up, but I decided to talk to God and nap with God. LOL! Have you ever done that? Took a nap with intentions of talking to God? Don’t try to play me, I know you have! And it’s okay. Don’t beat yourself up. The key is ensuring that we are always in position to hear from God when He talks. So if we fall asleep, He may talk in our dreams or He may cause your dreams to be so crazy that you wake up and and can’t wait to talk to Him about it.
That’s what happened to me. When I got up this time though, I remember the Holy Spirit saying: Remember your authority!
I am so glad that the Holy Spirit is a HELPER because ya girl be needing help to remember sometimes. I allow life to get a bit overwhelming and the Holy Spirit lets me know, you are not doing this alone Fon. I am right here. Don’t let things linger in your mind, use your authority in Jesus name! Got crazy dreams? Use your authority in Jesus name! Got crazy kids and kinfolks, use your authority in Jesus name. Your authority is in the name of Jesus!
As I was flipping to the Scriptural Bible Study in Proverbs, I just randomly opened my Bible to Ezekiel 37. Now y’all know that was God. The whole story about the valley of the dry bones!!! Come on nah! That was the Holy Spirit reminding me that I have the authority to prophesy!
He said to me, “Prophesy concerning these bone and say to them: Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! Ezekiel 37:4
So I prophesied as I had been commanded. While I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together; bone to bone. Ezekiel 37:7
Don’t forget the authority you have as a believer in Jesus Christ! There are some areas of your life where you need to stop lamenting over them and letting the devil whisper sweet nothings in your ear. You need to stop crying over them. You need to stop doubting God’s word. Instead you need to use your authority in Jesus name, and speak the word of God over your life! EVERY SINGLE AREA OF IT!
In Proverbs 29, our focus chapter for the Scriptural Surprise today, there are several verses that speak exactly to this!!
Fools give full vent to their anger, but a wise person holds it in check! Verse 11. We need to stop getting angry and start being wise enough to use our authority in Jesus name!
Think before you speak. Verse 20. Let Holy Spirit guide your lips so that you be wise when you speak.
Without revelation, people run wild, but one who follows divine instruction will be happy. Verse 18. Dr. Tony Evans said: Without the wisdom God’s word gives, people are prone to throw off all restraint. We are to receive biblical instruction from the Lord.
If you are afraid of people, it will trap you. But if you trust in the Lord, He will keep you safe. Verse 25. Don’t be a people pleaser, focus on pleasing God.
We are victorious in Christ Jesus. Let’s stop focusing on pleasing other people, and focus every single breath on pleasing our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He’s the one who gave you the breath anyway!
