I'm Getting Uncomfortable

Listen to the podcast version of this blog.

This morning the Holy Spirit said: “I am taking you out of your comfort zone, get comfortable with that.”

When you hear the Comforter say that, you know that it’s gonna be alright. You know you’re gonna be good. You know that no matter how UNcomfortable it gets, the Comforter is right there with you leading the way!!!

I also watched this video from my Tony Evans Study Bible and it COMFORTED Me.

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever—” John 14:16 AMP

He also said to me:

  • Whatever you don’t know, Ask Me.

  • I’ll walk you through it.

  • I’ll walk with you through it.

  • I’ll walk it out with you.

  • I’m right here.

  • I’m closer to you.

Then He asked me these two questions:

  1. Is your gift glorifying Me?

  2. How are you using the gift I gave you for My purpose?

I didn’t really answer the questions right then, but I know that in using my gift of writing and speaking, I seek to glorify Him. And for whatever reason, I think He wanted me to share this with you and ask you.

As I opened my Bible randomly to Job, not only did I see the video above, but there were two other messages that I got from Holy Spirit in the study notes section of Job 38 and 42:

  • God uses all of our circumstances to allow us to see Him, understand Him, and worship Him as never before.

  • The enemy can only inflict us with trials that have first passed through the hands of an all-wise, all-powerful, and all-loving God.

Was this conversation this morning a bit uncomfortable? Yup! Was getting out of the bed into the cold morning air (because the temperature dropped last night) to pray uncomfortable? Yup! Was hearing the Holy Spirit say what He said uncomfortable? Nope! There is no one I’d rather be Uncomfortable with, than the Comforter!

P.S. Don’t forget to read Deuteronomy 33 for the Scriptural Bible Study. This is the chapter where Moses gives his blessings right before his death. Also there is only one more chapter in this book and it’s actually about the death of Moses. I pray that you have gained as much from reading this Old Testament book as I have. Keep your notes handy but know that the Comforter, Holy Spirit is well able to bring what you have studied and read back to your remembrance when you need it most.

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
