Last night was a doozy. I found myself talking in a loud voice to my children about bedtime and schedule. See for the last few nights I was going to bed early and you could tell every morning when I got to bed early because my energy was through the roof here on the blog and podcast. Last night though. Ooooh Wee Y’all. The kids wanted to watch a movie on Monday and I told them we needed to “plan” for the movie. I said Mommy has a responsibility to get to bed on time because it really helps me to go into the prayer closet ready verses sluggish.

So they understood and for two nights, we went to bed per the new schedule. But last night, something happened. See because I had told them we could possibly watch a movie on Wednesday, they thought we were going to start a movie last night after 9. It frustrated me because I know God blessed me with super smart kids and I didn’t understand why they thought it was a good idea to start popping popcorn after 9:00 p.m. for a movie night when I have said all this week, 10 p.m. is the absolute bedtime for me and if that’s my bedtime, it’s yours too, because my house won’t be having no movements while I am sleep. Y’all feel me. LOL.

Apparently because of quarantine, they were unaware of the time and just thought because it was Wednesday, it was automatically movie night. So I had to do a whole parental teaching moment with them and that resulted in my bed time being slightly pushed back and I felt it this morning. That was my whole point of telling you that story. I also want to be super transparent with you because I know many of you seek to grow your relationship with the Lord through consistent prayer time. If you get nothing else from this story, just know that going to bed early is best. LOL

Okay, so what did me and the Holy Spirit have a conversation about today?

  • Don’t trust what man says, trust what I say. (Psalm 118:8)

  • Everything I say lines up with My Word.

  • Pardon

  • Release

  • There were some consequences that were going to happen, but because you turned away from your wicked ways, I have pardoned you. I have released you.

  • Don’t let past thoughts prevent you from the pardon experience.

  • Your sins have been pardoned.

  • You have been released.

  • Live like it.

  • Live like I have set you free because I did (John 8:36)

If things aren’t going your way or not lining up the way you want them to go, do you find yourself lamenting over some sin you did? Thoughts like: “I’m probably going through this because of that thing I did last year or ten years ago or yesterday.” Often times the enemy will try to remind you of your past sins to tangle you up in your mind and in your thoughts. And if he can get your mind tangled up, that will get your actions tangled up and you will find yourself acting as if you’re in a prison, but in reality you have asked the Lord to forgive you AND you have turned from your wicked ways (sin). But you walk around holding on to the sins thinking that’s why you’re in the situation you’re in. That’s a lie from the devil. When you repented and asked God for forgiveness and you turned away from that sin, you were forgiven. Your sins were pardoned by Jesus Christ. But the devil wants you to walk around as if you aren’t free.

The Holy Spirit said to me this morning…LIVE LIKE I SET YOU FREE because I did! You are released from that part of your life. So move on and don’t let it trip you up. Bottom line: If it keeps tripping you up, then you know that’s the enemy trying to do a sneak attack in the mind. Shut him down immediately by saying out loud: I AM FREE INDEED BECAUSE John 8:36 says: Whom the Son sets free is truly free indeed!
