It Won't Be Late!
I ordered a gift. It was a godly gift too. One that will create a conversation around God. Guess what? The gift has been sitting in my regional post office facility. Per the United States Postal Service website, Covid-19 has impacted the deliveries and it’s causing some delays. Some people have even encountered lost packages during this time. But God told me this morning, “it won’t be late!”
Now yall know I wasn’t even thinking about that package right? I was thinking about the promises that He has made me.
Me getting married…it won’t be late.
Me getting restored…it won’t be late.
Me getting all that God has said is already mine…it won’t be late.
Me getting this blog and podcast out before the publishing cut off time…it won’t be late.
Me getting the gift package from the post office…it won’t be late.
God’s timing is always perfect and we are to trust His delays.
Last night I was in Clubhouse listening to a prophetess talk about how to wait well verses waiting wrong. It was really good and she gave some amazing points on how to wait well.
I opened my Bible this morning and guess what was in the margin of the page I randomly opened it to? A video devotional by Dr. Tony Evans with the title: Waiting Well! Now y’all see why I really love my Tony Evans Study Bible so much! It has videos and everything in it!
But guess what scripture was on that same page with the video? Habakkuk 2:3
For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it testifies about the end and will not lie. THOUGH IT DELAYS, WAIT FOR IT, since it will certainly come and not be late. Habakkuk 2:3 CSB
Did you see that? In my conversation with God, He let me know through His word that the promises He gave me will certainly come and not be late. Though it may “seem” delayed (don’t miss the key word “seem”) wait for it.
Often times we think we are waiting on God, when God is waiting on us. When it seems like God is moving slow and nothing “seems” to be happening, it’s really God giving us an opportunity to fulfill OUR responsibilities. There is something that He is waiting on us to do. Is it for you to write the vision? Have you written down the vision of what you want from God? Because the verse says THE VISION is yet for the appointed time.
Waiting on God does not mean doing nothing. It means not going outside of His will while you do something. ~ Dr. Tony Evans
In that video devotional, Dr. Tony Evans refers to 2 Peter 3. So I flipped right on over there and the conversation with God continued in verses 8 and 9.
Dear friends, don’t over look this one fact: With the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like a day. The Lord does not delay his promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:8-9 CSB
11-12 …. it is clear what sort of people you should be in holy conduct and godliness as you wait for the day of God and hasten its coming. 2 Peter 3:11-12 (in part).
We can’t change God’s sovereign timetable, but when we as believers focus EVERY MOMENT (not just some moments) of life on pleasing God and doing His will, time seems to fly by. But we can be guaranteed that what God has for us…won’t be late! Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus! Glory to God!
P.S. One of the things that the prophetess said last night about waiting well is that you should be preparing for the thing you’re waiting on. God is giving you this extra wait time so that you can be FULLY READY TO GO in fulfilling His assignment for your life. Whatever you are waiting on God for should give Him the glory when it comes. Have you done everything YOU NEED TO DO in order to give God the glory when the prayers are answered?
Sometimes we cause the delay, not God!
Be encouraged today to BE ON ASSIGNMENT BY GOD! It won’t be late! You will receive all that God promised!
SALVATION PRAYER
If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
ASSIGNMENTS
What did Holy Spirit say to you in your conversation with Him this morning?
Have you done everything YOU NEED TO DO in order to give God the glory when the prayers are answered?
Record yourself reading the word of God on video or audio and watch how God will use your own voice to give you revelation and build your faith (keeping this assignment on here for a while).
