Live Your Life From God's Perspective!

This morning I prayed in the bed!!!

I know. You’re shocked because I always say GET OUT OF THE BED to pray!

When I first started praying in the bed, I felt bad for not going to the prayer closet, but I just kept on praising and praying in the Spirit. I broke the routine and just let the Holy Spirit give me rest right where I was. I got a release right where I was! And guess what? I didn’t even fall back to sleep either (because you know that’s why I say GET OUT OF THE BED). What happened actually surprised me! I talked to God and prayed LONGER!

Now that’s what you call letting go of the usual and allowing Holy Spirit to move right where I was. I realized that my prayer lifestyle is not about routine (anymore). It’s ALL ABOUT RELATIONSHIP now! My relationship with Holy Spirit is everywhere that I am.

Yes, when I first started this journey of praying early in the morning, I needed that accountability that structure and routines provide. I needed to be accountable to a group of people to do what I said I would do. I needed to weed out the old me, so it was IMPERATIVE that I GOT UP OUT OF THE BED to pray, or otherwise I would just fall back asleep. And we know that prayer is necessary and we can’t neglect the necessary.

But now!!!

But now, I can get cozy with the Holy Spirit in the bed and not feel bad about it or fall asleep! Yaaaaay! Now that’s progress, not perfection!

This morning, we are reading the last chapter of Nehemiah! Can yall believe we are already here at the last chapter? And it ended with some great points for us to pay attention to:

  • Don’t let your love for family cause you to make spiritually foolish choices. If a family member (or even a close friend) wants you to disobey God, then you have to choose who you’re going to obey. For me? I’m obeying God. Period. His blood that was shed for me… is way thicker than family!

  • If people rebel against the principles of God, it’s your business to love them enough to turn them around.

  • Don’t neglect the house of God.

  • Put God first and not worldly matters.

  • Don’t rob God!

  • Ask God to remember you. When Nehemiah did this, he was asking God for help to accomplish God’s Kingdom agenda in his community.

  • Use the Sabbath as a day to remind yourself of God’s grace in your life. This time you take to remind yourself of God’s grace results in more consistent obedience and thankfulness! This is a great assignment!!! Write it down!

  • When you marry wrong and then have children, the children suffer because they don’t get taught the ways of God. They aren’t taught to worship and obey God. And we all know that’s exactly the plan of the enemy. He wants to get you while you’re young. Look at all the chaos in our communities. So many young people are going the wrong way in life. We must be like Nehemiah and ask God for help to accomplish HIS KINGDOM AGENDA in our communities, and not just give up on them or move away.

  • Don’t compromise your purity. Think of the significant damage a breach in standards would do to the cause of Christ. If we would only take a moment to THINK before we act.

  • Satan is actively looking for opportunities to bring you down. He knows your weaknesses, but remember if we use the Sabbath and remind ourselves daily of God’s grace in our life, it will result in more consistent obedience! THINK AND THANK, so satan CAN’T! (Y’all know that’s straight bars right there).

  • Life your life from God’s perspectives that you can hear those joyous words, “WELL DONE.” That’s Matthew 25:21

Are you encouraged this morning after reading the book of Nehemiah? I sure hope so! I know that I am and I thank God for all the revelation I got from reading it and studying it! We are on a roll like cottonelle with this Scriptural Bible Study y’all! Let’s keep it going, okay!

Next up…the book of James!!! We will start Monday reading James, so read chapter 1 by then or during your morning Bible reading time on Monday!

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
