Speak Up!

Listen to the podcast version of this blog.

I am thankful that I hear the Lord! This morning He said “Speak Up, Speak My Word, Speak My Words. Don’t jump ahead of My voice. If you don’t hear Me, keep listening.”

As I was writing this, I also heard “Don’t overtalk me.” That really hit me because I have always been such a talker!! I hear you Holy Spirit!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 #obedience

Sometimes we want to hear God speak quickly but this morning I realized that I would rather be “LATE” waiting on an “ON TIME” God to speak direction to me!! 🔥

In doing some searches for Scriptures about speaking up, here is what I found:

  • They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Acts 2:3-4

  • After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. Acts 4:31

  • I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.Psalm 34:1

  • Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.Proverbs 31:8

  • Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.Proverbs 31:9

  • When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.Psalm 32:3

  • Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.Psalm 139:4

  • For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:21

  • In that day you will say: “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.”Isaiah 12:4

  • Joy is found in giving the right answer. And how good is a word spoken at the right time! Proverbs 15:23 NIRV

  • Lord, may these words of my mouth please you. And may these thoughts of my heart please you also. You are my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

P.S. Did you read Deuteronomy 28? Bottom line is either be obedient and be blessed or be disobedient and be cursed! Chapter 28 devotes 14 verses to the blessings but 54 blessings to the curses!! Yikes!! When you read this chapter, obedience should just be a simple choice. I choose obedience. How about you (after reading Deuteronomy 28)?

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
