Surrender to God Daily!

What happens when you race your children to show them that you used to run track back in the day? I will tell you what happens, you wake up limping to the prayer closet!! LOL! But guess what, even if I had to crawl my way there, I was going!
This morning as I write this blog and you listen to this podcast episode, know that stretching is a real thing that you should always do before running a full out sprint. Know that your children will most likely always beat you, especially if you’re bragging about how you used to run track, but leaving out the “in junior high” part of the story. LOL!
So what did the Lord say to me this morning? He said three things:
Wait on Me to answer you.
Don’t get in such a hurry. Give Me your time because I am the ONE who gave you the time to give back to Me.
Surrender daily. It’s not just a one-time thing.
My routine in the prayer closet was really different when I heard the Lord say: when you say you surrender, it means you’re willing to do it MY WAY, not your way. And My Way will be different. Same outcome, but different methodologies.
When the Holy Spirit said this, I realized that sometimes I try to force my way, but not in an unwilling way. I mean I just try to keep doing it the ways I have always done it, but the Lord said, when you tell me you want to do it My way, and you want My plan verses your plan, then your role is to simply be surrendered and submitted to the direction, leading, and guiding of the Holy Spirit. Don’t let how you trained, keep you on the training wheels level!!!! Remember we are going higher and deeper. And all you have to do is surrender and trust Me, each and every day.
Lord, I trust you and I only want to do this life…the way you originally designed for me to do it! I know there is a plan and purpose for my life. I will daily depend on you Holy Spirit to live it out.
Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. Luke 9:23 NIV
