This morning I kinda woke up feeling a bit down, but I didn’t let that stop me from talking to God first. This morning I was talking to God, my Daddy. I needed that wrap around love that only He could give me. I needed that “your-love-never-fails” love that only Abba Father could give me. What I realized is that when I woke up, I didn’t immediately start talking. I had let some unsettling thoughts from the previous day kick off my day. And the only way to kick those thoughts out of my day before they took over my day was to talk to My Father God. And He told me this: I have everything under control, no matter what you see.
It took me a few more minutes before I climbed out of the bed because in that moment, I just needed my Father God, My heavenly Daddy, to wrap me up tight with His voice. I talked to Him. He talked back to me. I cried to Him and He collected every single tear and let me know that He has always been there and never was going anywhere.
Once I felt peace and strength that only my Father God could give me, I swung my legs onto the side of the bed. One thing I do know is that my prayer time is not just about me, even though the Lord gives me everything I need to move. I headed to the prayer closet and interceded for others through prayer.
I opened my Bible for the Scriptural Surprise and before I did, I cried out to God to show me a specific word. I opened my Bible to a story I knew about, but I had not ever opened for the Scriptural Surprise. It was Daniel, chapter 6…the story about Daniel being sent to the Lion’s Den. I knew that the Lord was giving me exactly what I needed this morning. I read the story and I heard the Holy Spirit say this to me:
When you learn about the plot to throw you off or distract you, be like Daniel and keep on praying.
You won’t be harmed by any plot of the enemy because you TRUST ME. Nothing will harm you.
Don’t be deterred or distracted, keep on praying like Daniel did.
Even in mental captivity, I AM with you and will rescue you and deliver you, just like I did Daniel in the Lion’s Den.
As I was studying this chapter of Daniel, there are a few things I recognized about Daniel. It didn’t matter what was said or done to him, nothing was going to stop Daniel from fulfilling his heavenly duties. Daniel 6:10 says: When Daniel learned that the document had been signed, he went into the house. The windows in its upstairs room opened toward Jerusalem, and three times a day he got down on his knees, prayed and gave thanks to his God, JUST AS HE HAD DONE BEFORE.
That part right there.
JUST AS HE HAD DONE BEFORE!!
This morning, the Holy Spirit was showing me that no matter what keeps happening to try to distract you or deter you, the assignment is still the assignment, your heavenly duties are still your heavenly duties, and the same way I was there with you before, I am here with you now!
When I wrote that down…JUST AS HE HAD DONE BEFORE… I changed the HE to God. Just as God had done before, He will do again. Rescue Me and Deliver Me because I TRUST HIM!
Then I changed the “he” to a noun, JUST AS ___________ had done before, my God will rescue me and deliver me because I TRUST HIM!
Then I made it personal, JUST AS I HAVE DONE BEFORE, with prayer, I will continually do.
JUST AS HE HAD DONE BEFORE…HE WILL CONTINUALLY DO!
And even this y’all! Just as the enemy has tried to plot against me before, he will continue to do, but Daniel 6:22 says: My God sent his angel and shut the lions mouths; and they haven’t harmed me, for I was found innocent before him. And also before you, Your Majesty, I have not done harm.
Be encouraged this morning to not be distracted or deterred by the plot. According to Isaiah 54:17: Weapons WILL form, but they won’t prosper…but as a child of the Most High God, who doesn’t let anything keep you from being ON ASSIGNMENT BY GOD, you WILL prosper! Just look at the last verse of this chapter of Daniel.
So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.~ Daniel 6:28
It started off with a plot, it showed that the plot didn’t stop the prayer, and then Daniel was thrown into a Lion’s Den, rescued and delivered out of the Lion’s Den by God and then it says He prospered!
Do your three-a-days yield these same types of results?
P.S. Be sure to press play above & listen to each episode as I always go deeper on the audio version.
