Waking Up On Another Level!

This morning, I was full of energy… for half of my prayer time, then as if something tried to come over me, I felt this heaviness of sleepiness. Like I had to move around a whole lot during prayer. I was switching positions and everything. I felt myself really sleepy. To be honest, I still feel it. I heard the Holy Spirit say: WAKE UP!
That’s all I left out of the prayer closet with on my journal this morning. I said, Holy Spirit, “what does that mean?” I knew it had to mean more than just waking myself up, because while I felt sleepy, I was already awake physically. I Googled scriptures about wake up, and found one website that had 100 scriptures on waking up! One of the scriptures was Ephesians 5:14-16 MSG
Ephesians 5:11-16 The Message (MSG)
11-16 Don’t waste your time on useless work, mere busywork, the barren pursuits of darkness. Expose these things for the sham they are. It’s a scandal when people waste their lives on things they must do in the darkness where no one will see. Rip the cover off those frauds and see how attractive they look in the light of Christ.
Wake up from your sleep,
Climb out of your coffins;
Christ will show you the light!So watch your step. Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get. These are desperate times!
As I continued to study that scripture with my Bible, I heard the Holy Spirit say: There are some things that I am about to expose TO YOU and THROUGH YOU. I need you to be woke and not sleeping. I need you to be ready to expose them with the light that I placed IN YOU. And then there are some things I am about to expose YOU to also.
I went to the Tony Evans Study Notes to really dig more into this and to get even more clarity. And I just love how Dr. Evans broke it down. He said the exposing part doesn’t mean we are to go around telling on people. What makes everything visible is light. We are the light.
Dr. Evans said, if cockroaches are in a room, all you have to do is turn on the light, and they scatter. Similarly, if you live as children of light, shameful deeds will be exposed by your lifestyle and words that reflect God’s standard. Jesus got in trouble with the religious leaders for just being Jesus. He showed up to the religious leaders speaking truth and living righteousness. He was the light of the world. We must be the light. So if you’re sleeping spiritually, get up and let the light of Jesus Christ shine through you!
The only way we can reflect the light of Christ is through our intimate time spent with Him and absorbing Him. That’s prayer time, worship time, Bible study time, and hearing the Word of God time. I believe the Holy Spirit is saying to me, yes, you’re physically waking up and building a relationship with me through prayer, but I am about to WAKE YOU UP even more. Your light is about to shine brighter! I am about to wake you up on another level, spiritually! I’ll reveal to you what you need to see and what you need to expose with your light as you continue to shine your for Me.
Today, as I started writing this blog, I had no idea where the Holy Spirit would take me. I trusted him though. And I am so thankful for the word that He gave me this morning. He is truly waking me up on another level where His light will shine through me.
