WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING

God answers prayers! You hear me? I said very loudly…MY GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS! I wanted to share that first thing this morning on the blog because I want you to know that this prayer time I have been non-negotiable about every morning, has been amazing and God has answered my prayers. Now, I wish I could list out all the prayers I prayed and all that He answered, but I don’t have it all written anywhere (that’s something new I am starting though), but God has been faithful and has been answering MY PRAYERS! And He cares about even what we would consider the smallest detail. I was praying last night for peace about a situation and for clarity. Immediately, my Bible app popped up the perfect verse for me to meditate on. I instantly felt a rush of peace over me. Not only that…the situation I was praying about got major clarity within the next hour of me praying! GOD HEARS YOU AND ANSWERS YOUR PRAYERS! (Yes I am screaming at you!) LOL! LOL!

This morning, me and the Holy Spirit had a conversation over coffee (yes, I absolutely love conversations and coffee…at the same time). I read Isaiah 2:22 which talks about not trusting humans (I have read this A LOT lately, so I believe the Holy Spirit wants to make sure I get it), but then I flipped to Matthew 6 and that’s where our conversation got deeper (specifically Matthew 6:3-4, 6, 18). The Holy Spirit said:

  • What are you sharing?

  • Move in silence.

  • Don’t tell everyone what’s going on all the time.

  • Don’t make announcements for attention.

  • I will reward you openly for all the things you have done for Me in secret.

  • Make sure what you are doing in secret can be rewarded openly.

  • Keep giving. Keep praying. Keep fasting. Keep forgiving. Keep sharing what I say share.

Before my prayer life got to where it is today, I used to be a VERY SECRETIVE person. I used to “move around” in secret. The bible says in Matthew 6:3 when you give to someone, don’t tell your left hand what your right hand is doing, well I was following some of that verse in my old life by not telling anybody what my left or my right hand, leg, arm, or anything was doing! I was about to say it was almost as if I was living a double life, but to be totally honest, I WAS living a double life. And when I look back on it, I didn’t get any rewards from God living that way. I actually felt secretly shameful of my secret life. I was “acting” in the open like I wasn’t doing what I was doing in secret. I remember always telling people, I am very secretive and very private. I wore it as a badge of honor, but in reality, it was a badge of shame that I tried to shape into honor. It was horrible because it was very lonely. The very things I was doing in secret were actually things I really WANTED to be doing in the open, but because God had not ordained it, I kept it secret and it led to me living a miserable life. No I am not saying my whole life was miserable, but during those times where I was operating in secret sin (even though it wasn’t a secret to God), I never felt good about it. But I am thankful to God that even though my prayer life was not like it is now, I had been rooted enough in the Word to know that God was not pleased with my secret life and that I would never get those open rewards for what I was doing in secret back then.

But thank God for repentance and forgiveness! Wooo WEEE!! Y’all feel me, right? THANK GOD FOR THE TURN AROUND!! I am more happy and peaceful in my life than I have ever been! And my secret life now, is definitely one that the Lord is pleased with. How do I know…because He continues to reward me openly with favor, blessings, joy, peace, and a smile that no man can give or take away! It’s amazing!

I want to encourage you this morning with this question: what are you doing in secret? If you know you need to turn from it, do it today. Watch how pleased God will be with you, just for confessing that you want to turn from it. Then replace that secret act with prayer.

Hearts and Hugs!!
