WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING
Something new happened this morning during my prayer time! Well actually, it’s not all the way new, it’s new to me actually writing it down in my journal. But before I get to that…this morning I heard the Holy Spirit say flow with me, but in order to flow with me, you have to let go and keep your eyes on me. As I did exactly that, I just started doing this breathing exercise where I was breathing in peace and breathing out overwhelm. Inhaling peace and exhaling overwhelm. I felt myself getting into the flow. I imagined being in the water and allowing the Holy Spirit to keep me afloat as I flowed with Him. I was reminded of Peter walking on water and how when he took his eyes off Jesus, he began to sink. We must remember to keep our eyes on Jesus throughout the day, so we don’t sink.
Now, getting to the new thing that I did today!! First, let me explain how my prayer time goes: I sing and praise the Lord in the beginning and sometimes in the middle (praise and worship time), and then at the end of my prayers, I ask the Holy Spirit for the interpretation of unknown tongues as I pray in the Spirit, and then I also read my bible. If you go back a few blog posts or if you have been reading the blog the whole time, you remember the Holy Spirit told me to start bringing my bible into the prayer closet. Side note: always do what the Holy Spirit says. He has a reason for it :-)
Every time I get ready to read my bible, I always get excited because I like to open it with expectation that God has a word for me on whatever page I open it to. Now of course, I am reading the bible in order, and yes I am still in Genesis, but I just love opening the bible to see what the Holy Spirit will show me. This morning, I prayed this prayer and I call it the Bible Verse Surprise Prayer:
Lord, show me what you want me to see in this moment, in this bible, right now. Illuminate the verse or chapter specific to me today, when I open up this bible.
With giddy and excitement, I opened today’s bible verse surprise to 1 John, chapter 2. Please go and read the entire chapter! When I first opened my bible, I noticed a verse that had been previously highlighted at another time. It was chapter 2, verse 27, so that was the actual verses that popped out when I opened the bible. Remember I asked the Holy Spirit to illuminate a verse!!!! It was illuminated in YELLOW HIGHLIGHT.
But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you all things, and what he teaches is true - it is not a lie. So continue in what he has taught you, and continue to live in Christ.

I felt led by the Holy Spirit to read the entire second chapter and it was sooo good. Check it out. Also in order for you to do the Bible Verse Surprise, you need an actual bible. It’s not something you can do on the bible app. LOL!
