WHAT DID MY LORD GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING?
My Daily Conversations With God
Last night I found myself watching an old TV show that I haven’t watched in a while. Matter of fact, I haven’t watched it since I started praying consistently. As I was watching it, I cringed at ALL that was going on in the show. I used to say that I loved this show and it’s creator because as a writer, I really enjoyed how she brought real life to the screen. But after binging almost the entire season last night and not being able to fall asleep, the Holy Spirit had to let me know some things.
He said:
Protect your ear gates and your eye gates. Don’t give the enemy access to you by what you watch and consume.
When I change you, it’s permanent.
When you change you, it’s temporary and not sustainable in the Kingdom.
Bring all your responsibilities to Me. I can help you.
Prayer should not be burdensome, but where you bring your burdens to me.
I am your only Influencer.
Now y’all know He backed it up with His Word.
27 Don’t give the slanderous accuser, the Devil, an opportunity to manipulate you!
30 The Holy Spirit of God has sealed you in Jesus Christ until you experience your full salvation. So never grieve the Spirit of God or take for granted his holy influence in your life. Ephesians 4:27, 30 TPT
Give your burdens to the Lord,
and he will take care of you.
He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. Psalms 55:22 NLT
As I took notes on My Conversation With God this morning, I understood everything He was saying to me. I understood why I had not watched that show. But I am even more grateful for my spiritual maturity that allows me to SEE with my Holy Lenses how the enemy is cunning enough to take television shows and music to distract, corrupt and demoralize society and contaminate our minds. No wonder when I was watching this particular show, I found myself often emulating the characters thinking it was “cool” but it was straight up sin though. And what’s interesting is that God pointed out so much to me even as I was watching the show.
You can’t live righteous when you binging the wrong stuff. Period. You are not that strong Sis. You are not that strong Bro. IT WILL DISTRACT YOU. IT WILL HINDER YOU.
If we are going to binge anything, it should be our Bible. We must continue to get into the presence of God and allow our ears to be fine tuned to the voice of the Holy Spirit so that He can influence us and give us revelation, knowledge, and wisdom.
And as a side note: It really made me realize that it’s time for Kingdom creatives to change the content! I need to write shows that builds faith and shows that we can be SECURE In Jesus!
