You Are Strong…er!

WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING

I don’t know who was cutting onions in my prayer closet this morning, but I was crying…AGAIN! Yall, I try to be this person who sees the glass half full, not half empty. I try to focus on positive things and happy thoughts. This morning, I tried it. I started praying and then I just couldn’t fake with God anymore. I broke down. I cried. I was like…Lord, but I don’t want to cry about that situation anymore. I don’t want to cry about what happened to me in the past anymore. I want to be over it. I want to just focus on the plans you have for me and my future. I don’t want to cry anymore. As I tried with my own strength to stop crying…I cried even harder. At some point I realized that it’s not meant for me to be SO STRONG ALL THE TIME! The Holy Spirit was right there to comfort me. The warm tears were soothing my cheeks and it felt like warm running water out of my eyes as the tears were pouring out non-stop. I just dropped my shoulders and said…okay fine…I’ll cry. LOL! I am laughing at myself now, because I realized that the Holy Spirit was saying…rely on me and stop relying on this “strong girl” image you try to wear with everyone else. You’re in the prayer closet right now, take the mask off and just feel what you feel, knowing that I GOT YOU! Whew! Once again, it felt good to just release. I guess I didn’t get it all out the other day. I am so thankful to the greatest comforter of all time…the Holy Spirit!

Here’s what I heard through my prayers and my tears:

• I already told you that you’re getting it!

• Stay faithful

• Don’t listen to man. They don’t even know what’s going on.

• I can use any person I want to accomplish My Will for your life, and that person may not even be aware that they are being used by Me. The same way I can use you to accomplish My will for another person’s life and you won’t even be aware of it. It’s all about obedience, not knowing every detail.

• See when you surrender your life to Me, you allow Me to control it. You don’t have to worry about who I will use, or why I am using you. Let go of the need to know it all.

• I am aware of all those who have surrendered their life to me and are ready to be used for the upbuilding of My Kingdom. I know the plans!

• Let me handle it.

• Don’t try to figure it out. It’s not for you to figure out.

• Stay inspired, stay focused and stay encouraged!

• I GOT YOU!

I remember singing this song (I think it’s called, Lord I Lift Your Name On High) where it says: you came from heaven to earth, to show the way! I kept singing that part of the song because I wanted for God to show me the way. He said, I know the way and will show you when it’s time to move forward in that direction. Trust me.

I cried some more and I said, God I just want to be strong. He said…I made you strong (it’s in your name) and even though you don’t feel it right now, I am making you STRONG-ER! The verse that was brought to my remembrance was 2 Corinthians 12:9 which says:

But he replied, “My gift of undeserved grace is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak.” So if Christ keeps giving me His power, I will gladly brag about how weak I am. 2 Corinthians 12:9 Contemporary English Version

As I remembered that verse, I was also thinking about a situation in my life where I listened to what someone told me. I heard the Holy Spirit pull from my R&B listening days and I began to sing from Jon. Nope not the book of the bible, Jon B!! LOL! The song, They Don’t Know, says in part, don’t listen to what people say, they don’t know about…you and me! LOL!!

I started laughing in the prayer closet y’all. See the Holy Spirit used an R&B song to let me know…don’t be worried about what other people are telling you or saying, they don’t know about US! I would tag the song, but I can’t remember all the lyrics and that’s the only part of the song the Holy Spirit wanted me to remember in that moment! HA HA HA!!

When I opened my Bible for the scriptural surprise, I had asked the Holy Spirit to give me a word to show me that I am stronger. Y’all, without fail, because God never fails…I turned straight to Job chapter 16. I started reading and right when I moved into Chapter 17, verse 9 just stood out as if the Holy Spirit had highlighted it! And I want to say this, whenever you are looking for a word from God and open your bible, keep reading until you get it. Sometimes I will read whole books of the bible because the word is at the end of it. Don’t give up. God is faithful and will show you. Keep reading! In Job 17:9, it says in my Bible:

The righteous will move onward and forward, and those with pure hearts will become stronger and stronger. Job 17:9 New Living Translation

I can’t even express in words how in awe the Holy Spirit makes me!!!! I asked for a word and not only did He give me stronger one time, He gave it twice!!!! I looked up the words onward and forward because I was like, what’s the difference?

Onward means a continuing forward direction. Forward means onward so as to make progress. The words are synonyms, but I interpreted that to mean, The righteous will continue to make progress in the right direction toward a successful conclusion and will move forward IN THE FRONT!

See some of what I was crying about had a lot to do with feeling like I was behind and not where I should be, but thank you Holy Spirit for letting me know that my mission is to keep living right and keep having a pure heart. God’s got me! I am stronger and I am in the front!
