Get Wisdom While You Wait!

WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING

I woke up at 3 something this morning! Of course I tried to go back to the sleep. I felt really hot. So I got up and went to the bathroom and adjusted the air on my way back to the bed. I was thinking that I was about to snuggle back up under the covers and sleep till my 5 am alarm. Nope. I was just staring at the ceiling.

Then I said, Lord, should I be praying about something? I started praying right then. Then I tried to go back to the sleep. Nope. I turned. I readjusted. I snuggled. Eyes still wide open! I said, Okay Lord, is there something else I need to do? I heard get up and pray. But I was like, I just prayed so was that really what I heard? LOL! I didn’t get up. I laid there and prayed some more, and then tried to go back to sleep. Nope. I looked at my phone to see the time or if there was any sign of why I was up. Had I missed a text or an alert? Nothing. I snuggled again. This time I turned on my side. I pulled the covers up. Nothing. I heard it again. Get up and go pray. All of this back and forth turning and praying on my back, actually took me about 45 minutes before I got up and went to the prayer closet.

Wrapped in my blanket, I began to pray. I prayed in the Spirit! Guess what? When I prayed in my bed, I wasn’t praying in the Spirit. I was just “regular” praying. As I prayed, I realized that this is why I had to get up. Praying in the Spirit is different and it allows the Holy Spirit to use you to pray for things unknown to you in an unknown tongue. As I ended my prayer, I grabbed my bible and opened it. PROVERBS! Okay Lord, I see what you’re doing here with me even more now.

I read Proverbs chapters one through ten!! I heard the Holy Spirit say, get wisdom while you wait.

There were three verses that I wrote down that stood out:

Proverbs 3:6
Proverbs 3:11
Proverbs 3:13

Clearly chapter 3 really resonated! Remember I woke up at 3 something!

Everything I was reading showed me that now is the time for me to get wisdom while I am waiting on my prayers to be answered. Yesterday I watched a video that featured one of my faves, Dr. Myles Munroe. I am going to share it here so that you can watch it. As a side note, I love the way Wisdom for Dominion does these visual YoutTube videos with Dr. Munroe’s message. I have gained so much wisdom from watching a ton of them, and it’s amazing how the Holy Spirit woke me up to pray and get even more wisdom!

Lately, I have been really focused on relationships and wanting to make sure I do ALL of my relationships (love, business, and family) the way God wants me to do it. My new book Permission Slips even reflects that as my favorite chapter is the relationship chapter!! I believe a lot of my missteps in life revolved around my relational choices and I want to make sure I get it right going forward.

Be encouraged as you wait on God to answer. Get wisdom while you wait. And whether you are single, married, divorced or widowed, we can all stand to gain more wisdom in the area of relationships, as our relationship with our Creator is the most important relationship of all.
