Your Reward Is Tied to Your Faithfulness!
WHAT DID MY LORD GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING?
My Daily Conversations With God
This morning I woke up from dreaming! I grabbed my phone to write them down and realized I had quite a few different dreams. I don’t know what they all mean yet, but it’s interesting that after prayer, I opened my Bible randomly for the Scriptural Surprise to DANIEL!!
I read the first chapter of Daniel during after prayer time this morning. One theme stood out: the Lord rewarded Daniel’s faithfulness for not eating food that Jews weren’t supposed to eat according to the law of Moses. He was given the special ability to interpret the meanings of visions and dreams!!!!
“God gave these four young men an unusual aptitude for understanding every aspect of literature and wisdom. And God gave Daniel the special ability to interpret the meanings of visions and dreams.” Daniel 1:17
Daniel did not defile himself by eating what all the other folks were eating. He was faithfully obedient no matter what the other people were doing around him. He got permission to eat vegetables only and the guard who was watching over him favored him in his request. But we know that this was God using the guard to favor Him.
Just like Daniel, the Lord will reward our faithfulness too! He stands ready to bless us when we obey Him and trust Him! Daniel and the other three men were rewarded for their faithfulness and obedience to not eat unclean things. It made me think about a buffet and an open bar. The king had had ordered his chief eunuch to go get some guys that they would train up to be his advisers. And the king gave them provision from his table. They were basically given the king’s food and wine to partake of, but Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego didn’t eat that food. They only had vegetables and water. This is where people get the “Daniel Fast” from.
But they were faithful to the law of Moses. Are we being faithful to the laws of God?
No matter what is going on in the world, we are to maintain the worldview of the Kingdom of God because we are Kingdom citizens!! Like Daniel, we can’t defile ourselves and do what the world does. We must honor God in our actions. We must honor God, be obedient, trust Him and His Way!
Are we being good Kingdom citizens? Check your citizenships!
And finally, I heard the Holy Spirit tell me: to speak what I tell you to speak. Don’t give up at the end of the assignment. See it through to the end. Don’t leave it unfinished.
And on that note…let us be like Daniel today…Obedient. Because then and only then, will our faithfulness be rewarded!!!
