Be Encouraged!
WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING
Be Encouraged!
This morning I have been on an emotional roller coaster and the crazy part is, I really don’t even know why! Maybe it’s a distraction? Maybe it’s for me to pray more (because I have gone back to the prayer closet again already). Maybe it’s for me to just sit still? Whatever is going on with me today, all I know is that I will keep praying!
This morning as I pushed through whatever this emotional stuff is, I heard the Holy Spirit say three things:
Be Encouraged!
Keep praying!
Don’t quit!
When I opened my Bible because my journal sat empty, as if I couldn’t hear God’s voice, He spoke to me through James 5. From verses 13-18, I read about effective prayer. Now I don’t know about you, but for me, that was God blowing my mind once again. Here I was sitting here feeling like I just wanted to crawl back in the bed and cry without a clear-cut reason, and my Lord and Savior was showing me in His Word what effective prayer is. The verse that really stood out was James 5:17-18.
Elijah was a human being as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the land. (18) Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land produced its first fruit. ~ James 5:17-18 CSB
Today, don’t let anything thwart your prayers. Even if you don’t feel like praying, do it anyway. I immediately felt good when I left out of the prayer closet for the 2nd time this morning. I actually felt good when I left out the first time, but something happened or something tried to happen to throw me off. I felt this rush of emotion come over me. And like I said, I still don’t even know why. I am not sad about anything that I can think of. But regardless of how I feel, I know that praying over and over until I feel a release is exactly what the Master Physician ordered. In The Holy Spirit and His Gifts, a book by Kenneth Hagin, he said, feelings and faith are far removed from each other; in fact, sometimes when you feel as if you have the least faith, that is when you have the most faith because you do not base your faith on feelings. This reminder was the encouragement I needed.
When I went back into the prayer closet, I went straight into praying in the Holy Spirit, and it was like I had an instant battery charge. I went from 2% to 100%! In Jude 20-21, it says:
But you, dear friends, as you build yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, (21) keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting expectantly for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life. ~ Jude 20-21 CSB
Today, I encourage you to grow in your prayers. I encourage you to deeper your relationship with God. I encourage you to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17) or as the new living translation says, Never Stop Praying.
Your Questions For Today:
What did God say to you in your conversation with Him this morning?
How can you add more prayer to your day?
New Year…New Things! The Scriptural Surprise will now be featured in a graphic! And of course if God gives me something to say on it, I will share that conversation in the blog. The graphic may change sometimes (it did today), but I wanted to make sure you knew where the new home for the Scriptural Surprise would be. Check it out below and read the scriptures! I know God would love to have a conversation with you!
SALVATION PRAYER
If you’re not a believer and have a desire to be, openly confess and declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer out loud, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community and start having a conversation through prayer with God every day. And let me be the first to welcome you to your new life with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. YAAAAY!!!!! You made the best decision you could ever make! Feel free to email me at info@onassignmentbyGod.com and let me know about your newfound life or if you need prayer for anything.
