Please Note: If the play button is not working, it most likely means I am still recording the audio. Please come back shortly to listen.
This morning before I got into my Bible, I was just praying in the natural and in tongues. I prayed and cried and prayed and cried. I repented and asked God for forgiveness for being lazy, disobedient, not in alignment with Him, saying things or doing things that were not of Him; and even thinking things that were not of Him. I just wanted to wipe the slate clean. So I did just that…in the mighty name of Jesus!
I asked the Holy Spirit some questions and He answered and said, don’t force anything; and it won’t happen before My timing for it to happen. I cried for a bit and then I felt this peace. I don’t ever want anything before God wants me to have it. I don’t want nothing prematurely.
I was listening to one of the ministers I follow on Facebook, named Jon-Michael McKinney, and he said: “Stop asking God for something that you refuse to prepare for!” Now that stuck out to me big time! I started thinking about what I have been asking God for and what I have been actively preparing for. What about you? Are you asking God for something and not preparing for it? You can’t prepare once it arrives. And further more, you won’t be ready for it when it comes. The Lord has been telling me things are coming soon and suddenly, so I need to ensure that I am PREPARED! How do I prepare for what I prayed for? Be led by the Holy Spirit!
As I was reading today in Acts chapter 11 for our Scriptural Bible Study, there were several verses that stood out to me that I want to discuss and share with you all.
Acts 11:12 - The Spirit told me to accompany them with no doubts at all. As I was reading this verse, I realized that Peter went to Cornelius house simply because the Spirit told him to go and not just go…go with no doubts. Now that’s good right there.
Acts 11:15 - Peter was telling the story to the people who were tripping that he had gone to Cornelius house (who was a Gentile…not a Jew like him). He said, as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came down on them. When we are led by the Holy Spirit to speak, other people can receive the the Holy Spirit!! But notice is said when he began. All Peter had to do was BEGAN! What is it that you’re so focused on the end when God is saying, all you need to do is BEGAN and I will do the rest?
Acts 11:20 - In this verse, they started speaking to the Greeks. They told the Greeks about the Good News of Jesus and the Lord’s hand was with them, and a large number WHO BELIEVED turned to the Lord. This lets us know that the Lord’s hand will be with us when we speak about Him to others, including the Greeks. Are you Greek and need to turn to the Lord?
Acts 11:23 - When you turn to the Lord, be encouraged to remain true to the Lord with devoted hearts.
Acts 11:24 - Barnabus is the kind of husband I want. Okay, I know yall are like, wait whaaaat"? LOL!! Yeah when I read this verse, I immediately had that thought because Barnabus was a good man, full of Holy Spirit, and of faith. Clearly these three things are a must for me. LOL! Y’all better have three things from the Bible that are a must for you (this is for my single sisters). And for the brothers, she can be a good woman, full of Holy Spirit and of faith. Come on now!
Acts 11:25 - Wait a minute, Barnabus was a connector AND he taught the word of God too? See, that’s why I was thinking that about Barn (I’ll call him Barn for short)! It says Barnabus went and found Saul and brought him back to serve in Antioch for a whole year teaching large numbers of Christians. And Antioch is actually where we first hear about the name Christian. It of course is derived from Christ and the disciples were first called Christians for the One whom they worshipped and obeyed. Dr. Tony Evans said, if we are going to bear Christ’s name in the world, then we must likewise bear his attitudes and actions, his character and conduct.
Acts11:29 There was a famine that took place after one of the prophets had predicted it by the Spirit. It says that each disciple, ACCORDING TO HIS ABILITY, determined to send relief to the brothers and sisters who were experiencing the famine. This lets us know right here that as disciples of Jesus Christ, we are to be the ones to help others that are experiencing famine in their lives, and we are to do it according to OUR ABILITY. You can’t donate a million if you ain’t got a million, but it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t donate that $100 or that $1000 that you CAN donate!
Today’s word has been so good hasn’t it? I just love how we are reading the word of God together and learning so much that can be applied to our lives each and every day! Be encouraged today to always be led by the Holy Spirit in everything you do. And the only way to hear from Him to know what to do, is to build a relationship with Him so you can hear His voice clearly. He wants to lead you…but the question is, are you willing to be led?
P.S. Be sure to press play above & listen to each episode as I always go deeper on the audio version.
